I would use this book for 3rd-5th grade to teach a lesson on the Presidents. This story is about the life of Abraham Lincoln. It shows him growing up and how he became the President. It also shows how life was many years ago.

True Stories about Abe Lincoln is a great read for kids. It tells the entire life of one of our nations presidents from birth to death in a format that is easy for young readers.
Teaching Extensions:
1)A history lesson reguarding the civil war area could be taught from this book.
2)A government lesson could be taught about the rise and fall of one of the nations presidents.
3)A lesson showing how a biography can be constructed could be taught using this book.
