This next book in the massively popular Middle School series is about an unforgettable summer of hi-jinks, new friends, and surprises, all told with the usual humour appreciated by 10 - 12 year olds. As an older reader I found this all too silly for me but could appreciate the deeper issues that
What I did like about this book is how Rafe stands up to bullies and encourages his new friends to do so. Rafe Khatchadorian, the hero of the Middle School series, is ready for a fun summer at camp - until he finds out it's a summer school camp! Luckily, Rafe easily makes friends with his troublemaking cabin mates and bunkmate, a boy nicknamed Booger Eater, who puts up with endless teasing from the other kids. Rafe soon realises there's more to a person than a nickname, though, and Booger Eater might be the kind of friend you want on your side when the boys from the Cool Cabin attack. As I said a great read for 10 -12 year olds that like farts, revenge, and good vrs mean & ugly.

Finally. A nice, relaxing, summer vacation. What can go wrong? Rafe discovers the lovely concept of "summer school" meets "sleepaway camp." Rafe can't possibly get in trouble here!
Yeah...just keep telling yourself that. Does Rafe attract trouble? Or is he drawn to it? Either way, trouble and Rafe
