Description

"Something big is brewing in Trenton, N.J., and it could blow at any minute. Stephanie Plum might not be the world's greatest bounty hunter, but she knows when she's being played. Ken Globovic (aka Gobbles), hailed as the Supreme Exalted Zookeeper of the animal house known as Zeta fraternity, has been arrested for beating up the dean of students at Kiltman College. Gobbles has missed his court date and gone into hiding. People have seen him on campus, but no one will talk. Things just aren't adding up, and Stephanie can't shake the feeling that something funny is going on at the college--and it's not just Zeta fraternity pranks. As much as people love Gobbles, they hate Doug Linken. When Linken is gunned down in his backyard it's good riddance, and the list of possible murder suspects is long. The only people who care about finding Linken's killer are Trenton cop Joe Morelli, who has been assigned the case, security expert Ranger, who was hired to protect Linken, and Stephanie, who has her eye on a cash prize and hopefully has some tricks up her sleeve"--… (more)

NOTHING more entertaining than the Plum team: Better than ever, Witty, Janet Evanovich, brilliantly performed by Lorelei King (never use anyone else)..Stellar (Lula's new word); and the cast of clever, sarcastic, hilarious characters in the Burg: Bounty hunter-Stephanie Plum, Grandma Mazur, Lula,
Show More
sexy Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and Ranger--accompanied by Bob, Rex, Big Blue, and the gang. Makes you want to hang with them.

Loved it! Say what you want. I for one, will continue to Pre-order every "audio"--anxiously awaiting the next. TRICKY TWENTY-TWO delivers ALL you come to expect from the colorful quirky group; for non-stop action and hours of "laugh out loud" wit and humor. Fans will enjoy the latest surprises. (no spoilers here)

Face it, who cares about the plot or the story? Addictive: I could listen to the banter between Grandma Mazur, Lula, Stephanie, and Joe all day and never be bored. (Go Team, Morelli) . . . Keep them coming, Janet.

Don't you always get hungry when listening to Lula?

I love to listen to the Stephanie Plum novels on audio because I absolutely love what Lorelei King does with the voices. The stories are pretty insignificant, but this one will forever be "in which Stephanie choses-- or not. Because we really won't know til the next one what actually comes down."

Stephanie Plum and her sidekick Lula are up to their usual shennigans of destroying cars, eating lots of junk food and going to wakes where Grandma wrecks havoc while trying to catch bond skips. This time they stumbled into a college campus frat house where there's some mysterious things
Show More
happenings. I'm giving this 4 stars because at long last it appears that there some movement in the Stephanie, Morrelli and Ranger triangle.

More of the same, Stephanie, Ranger, Morelli, Lulu and Grandma.

Stephanie goes to the academic world trying to track down a FTA who is a college student. But there is more to his disappearance than just than a wild frat house where he lived. This story is packed with “normal Stephanie” things – cars exploding, dangerous and dirty take-downs, Grandma and
Show More
her antics at a wake, and of course, the on-going competition between Morelli and Ranger for Steph’s affections. But there is a dark side to this installment. Something serious is going on with Morelli that he is keeping from Stephanie. And though Stephanie often puts herself in harm’s way, this time she may have gone too far. This tale is darker than others in the series; maybe that’s what makes it so good.

Ken Globovic, a Zeta fraternity brother, has been arrested, but all is not as it seems at Kiltman College. When Doug Linken is gunned down in the back yard of the fraternity house, there aren’t many tears, not even from the widow. But who is the murderer and why was Linken targeted?

Stephanie
Show More
Plum, with Lula in tow is, as always, hot on the trail of the bail jumpers, this time including the aforementioned Ken and Billy Brown, a fry cook who used bacon grease to facilitate his heist.

Morelli breaks up with Stephanie in the beginning of the story, providing the angst that keeps Stephanie frustrated. Ranger is his usual stoic self, surprised to find he has feelings for the woman. Stephanie manages to do in cars in record time and her cake baking episode is bound to leave readers chuckling.

Fans of the series will find all the expected characters and chuckles in place as the zany antics abound. It’s a quick read, bound to leave readers with a smile as everything finally wraps up, mostly as expected. Or does it?

Synopsis: The usual crew is back, but this time Stephanie has been dumped by Morelli and is ready to become either a baker or a hair stylist. Stephanie and Lulu get tangled up in murders on a college campus, and exposed to plague carrying fleas. Ranger is available for backup, both professional and
Show More
personal.
Review: This story is a bit darker than the usual brain candy that typifies the Stephanie Plum novels. Although the reader suspects who the actual murderer is, he/she isn't revealed until the final chapter. Since I'm more a fan of Ranger than Morelli, I keep hoping that Ranger and Stephanie will ultimately become a couple.

Not as good as Twenty-One but still made me laugh.

What can I say, this is another great book in the Stephanie Plum Series. I would expect nothing less from author, Janet Evanovich. This book is both a fast and at times, a very funny read. She makes her characters seem so real, that you feel like you know them personally. I am already looking
Show More
forward to reading the next one in this series.

Interesting and entertaining format. I guess I've read several in this series and although the profusion of sexual verbage bothers me, I keep coming back for more. Lula seems a bit out of character this time around for an ex 'street corner ho' ... a little too intelligent, perhaps? Stephanie, on
Show More
the other hand, is true to her normal airheadedness character. Grandma is the best character of them all in my estimation.

You'd think that after a while, I'd get tired of these books, but I don't. It's always fun to see what Stephanie is into these days. As always, there is humor with some seriousness thrown in. All is always well in the end. As I've said before, however, I do wish she would settle down and get
Show More
married. The books could be just as funny and good if she were, I do believe. Make up your mind, Steph!

Tricky Twenty-Two by Janet Evanovich
#22 Stephanie Plum

Bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, is caught up in a murder investigation being conducted by her boyfriend, Joe Morelli, and once again gets all tangled up in police business and has to get herself out of some dangerous situations, including a
Show More
kidnapping and possibly being infected with a deadly bacteria. Joe's dealing with a sensitive stomach through most of this one, thinking the stress of his job and possibly dealing with Stephanie's shenanigans may be to blame. This leaves them at odds and Stephanie has to call on Ranger even more than normal to bail her out and provide protection, muscle, and different forms of transportation (of course).

Both men are showing more affection toward Stephanie, and I think she's finally, finally, HALLELUJAH!, starting to figure out where her heart truly lies. That is, of course, until the next installment when something will happen to muck that all up--again. haha

This does use the same pattern as all the rest in the series, with the same type of humor, etc. Lula's off-the-wall comments were a bit grosser than normal for some reason at the start of the book. We get some action with Grandma Mazur as well as Steph's mom this time around too, which was refreshing. There were also a couple of welcomed surprises thrown in. Maybe we'll start to see some forward motion to this series.

Evanovitch redeemed herself. After the last two I was about to give up.

Another fun Plum book. Stephanie and her sidekick Lula are assigned to bring in Ken Globovic, but finding him isn't easy. His frat brothers claim they haven't seen him, so Stephanie starts checking with other people around campus. The dean he's accused of attacking wants him found and blames the
Show More
entire fraternity. The biology professor and frat adviser hasn't seen him, but something about him bugs Stephanie.

Stephanie also gets pulled into a Rangeman operation, helping to provide security for a contractor and his wife. The wife is a piece of work, and when her husband is killed there isn't much grief. There are a couple pretty funny scenes involving her at two funerals. Stephanie' on again/off again boyfriend Joe Morelli is the cop assigned to the investigation. Things get complicated when two more bodies show up, killed with the same gun, and have connections to the Zeta fraternity.

Stephanie and Joe's relationship becomes off again, when Joe is suffering physical symptoms of stress and he decides to cut out everything stress inducing from his life. One of those things is Stephanie. She's hurt and mad and worried about him, but avoiding him is impossible. With Morelli, off again usually doesn't last long and I enjoyed the process in this one.

The ever mysterious and super hot Ranger is also present. With Morelli out right now, will Stephanie give in to Ranger's advances? It's always fun to see Ranger's protectiveness toward her. As happens in most books, Ranger provides cars when she needs one and they are nearly always destroyed, sometimes in unusual ways. This time it's two cars, one involving geese and the other fireworks. There are also two pretty sweet scenes when he takes care of her. I love how he can convey so much with a simple "Babe".

The mystery in this one is pretty convoluted, and offers plenty of chances for Stephanie to get into trouble. I enjoyed her search for Globovic, and what happens when she finds him. His reasons for jumping bail lead Stephanie on another search, ending with a crazy professor, fireworks and fleas. The final confrontation in this one was pretty fun with Stephanie's grandmother, mother and Lula getting in on the action.

Not one of the better books in this series. Nothing seemed particularly fresh. The same characters acting in the same old way. The saving grace of most of the books is that they have some laugh out loud funny sections but this one didn't. I almost decided not to bother finishing it but I did. It
Show More
wasn't really bad, just sort of bleh. That's why I don't buy the author's books anymore, just take them out of the library.

I enjoyed this book in the series. I always do, but this one captured more of the goofiness I liked about the earlier numbers in the series. I realized that no. 2 was published in 1996, but 20 years later, Stephanie is still undecided about Morelli and Ranger. Come on, Janet, let's move onto
Show More
another phase.

*Book source ~ Library

Stephanie Plum may not be a bounty hunter extraordinaire, but she does tend to get the job done one way or another. When she gets an FTA named Ken *Gobbles* Globovic, college student and member of the worst fraternity house at Kirkman College, she figures the job will be a
Show More
piece of cake. She should have known better.

The formula hasn’t changed for this book. Stephanie gets into her usual troubles, Lula is still funny and wacky, Vinnie is still a jerk, Morelli is an asshole and Ranger is hot. After 22 books you’d think Stephanie would have grown a bit as a character, but she’s still as she was in the beginning. Getting kinda ridiculous really. I also don’t know what she sees in Morelli other than her family would find him as an acceptable husband for her. Wow. Quite the reason to marry. If they ever do. I hope they don’t. I can’t stand him. I would choose Ranger every day of the year over Morelli. Anyway, if you’ve read the other books in the series there won’t be any surprises in this one. It’s a nice piece of entertaining fluff that doesn’t tax your brain and will occasionally make you smile. Plus, Ranger. Mmmmm…

Some of the Stephanie Plum novels I like better than others. This is one I liked better (I like them all). The characters were in character, the laughs kept coming, and I was entertained.

Stephanie Plum: The Wile E. Coyote of the chick lit fiction world. If you accept this truth about these books, they don't disappoint.

This one was no better or worse than the first 21 books, except that it looks as if perhaps Ms. Evanovich is running out of ways to keep the triangle interesting;
the romantic story line was just flat.

An extra half star though for the interesting main plot line. It was definitely different.

I think this will be the last Stephanie Plum book I read. I have enjoyed the series but it is getting old. I have always noticed all the sexual inuendo and crass comments but this time they were sometimes offensive. Once again Stephanie has a couple of bonds to pick up that are not easy and lead
Show More
her into some dangerous, humourous and tricky situations. This time she steps up to help one of the people she is chasing to solve a series of crimes which almost gets her killed. Of course Ranger steps in and helps her a couple of times, gives her a couple of cars and continues to confuse her emotions. She and Morelli are having issues again, but is this finally it for them? The crime she is trying to solve is what kept my interest, but I can't read about Stephanie's and Lula's adventures and stupidity any more.

Super fun book. I read it over one shift at work. We were slow at work and I was really enjoying the book. I have read all the previous books in the series. It is comforting to be drawn back into this world. There is a murder mystery that is pretty interesting. Lots of Ranger. I am definitely Team

Ranger. A great addition to the series.

Stephanie Plum finds the funniest ways to get herself in trouble. This book is no exception. Three murders, a missing college student, an insane professor, and rumors of the plague make this another winner for Janet Evanovich. Every time I think she will run out of stories for Stephanie Plum,
Show More
Evanovich comes up with another. This isn't the best of the Stephanie Plum books, but as always, it made me laugh. That alone is worth the price of admission to the circus that is the life of Stephanie Plum. I hope Evanovich never stops writing them.

It's about the usual for the Stephanie Plum series. It does seem to have a bit of the old zip that earlier novels in this series had but later ones did not. The part about Lula, the geese, and the Mercedes is funny. I wish the author would stop yo-yoing on Stephanie's relationships or at least stop
Show More
having her sharing beds since she's not married.
