Woohoo! I have finally found a believable gay romance with a happily ever after and characters who are self consistent! It's not a perfect book - some of the police procedural elements seemed a bit off to me - but nothing too egregious either. I am totally going to track down the first two books in

this trilogy, and other books by this author :)

I don’t know the reasoning behind almost all m/m romances only being a few books long. I’m sorry to see this series end as I liked the two characters so much. It seemed as if this one laid the groundwork for continuing on...but this one was published 5 years ago and I don’t see any mention of

further books in this series. This is a fast-moving...sometimes frightening... mostly hopeful... and occasionally eye-brow raising tale...wrapped up in a love story so strong that you can feel the heat when these two men are together. It takes talent to tell a story so well and keep the suspense strong and the sex stronger. Good job Ms. Lanyon. Before anyone corrects me...yes ...Josh Lanyon is a woman and one very outstanding writer.

Former FBI agent, Elliot Mills, thought he'd left his crime-fighting life behind. But when he fell right into the middle of the path of a serial killer, he found out it wasn't that simple. And even though the culprit was apprehended, it turns out it's still not over. The Sculptor may not have been

acting alone. And he is all to happy to draw Elliot back into the path of the storm--much to the dismay of his partner, Special Agent Tucker Lance. Danger threatens them both, and it might be the thing that pulls them apart forever. But if they can make it through alive, could it also be the thing that pushes them together once and for all?

I found myself wrestling with this one a little. It was an interesting read, but it felt a bit like trying to hang on to the story of the previous book. At times it felt like a new chapter, and at times it felt like a continuation. And it was a bit more predictable than I'm used to seeing from one of Lanyon's books. I think part of it is that I was wanting to see the Sculptor behind them with the chance for them to focus on moving forward. Maybe if there's another book?

4.5 rounded up to 5 stars. This is my favorite of the series, it had really good tension and a complex mystery. And this couple has really grown on me and what they mean to each other was really emphasized in this one.
