Description

Troy BrennanEvery Southie in Boston knows that name. The son of a dead mobster. The heart-throb with steel-blue eyes. "The Fixer" who can make or break you in this city. Oh, and my new husband. Sparrow Raynes That's me. No one seemed to remember my name up until he barged into my life. But then he caged me. Kidnapped me. And killed every chance I had to run away from the place where we grew up. Put simply, Troy Brennan clipped my wings. I have dreams, big ones, but I doubt he'll ever let me chase them. I have no idea why he decided to take me as his wife. But I do know this: pissing off this man will not do me any good. At all. Sparrow is an Amazon international bestseller.

Sparrow, or Red for intimi, is forced into a marriage with Troy Brennan, Boston's most wanted and very cruel lad. Why is she kind of kidnapped in his huge, luxurious mansion and what's the purpose to end up as his legal wife? Sparrow hates Troy very much and is bound to fight back her way to

freedom. The more she resisted, the more Troy likes her. Will it end up as a classic Stockholm Syndrome or might true love emerge from these bizarre circumstances? This narrative starts with Troy brutally murder of a priest of a local parish church. Will the plot take the reader through the rest of his hit list? The emphasis is on the psychological side of the alternating points of view to this deepening arranged marriage. Family history, blood bonds, bribery, and a continuous flow of sexual arousal and rude language keep the reader puzzling where and how this will end. Sparrow is a clever work of fiction by L.J. Shen. The open end leaves room for a sequel.

Lovely story; the last few chapters with the time-skip and epilogue were a bit...eh, but overall it was a spectacular read!

I can't put into words how much I love this book, the characters, and the story.

I think Troy made me fall in love with him in the first chapter, and after that, it was a wild ride. I love his jerkiness, craziness, and passion. He was amazing in every sense if we exclude that he was a killer. But he

was so funny and possessive that if I met him, my pants would drop from themselves.

Sparrow was such a cutie. I loved how she acted, how confident she was, and how brave. I think she is a perfect example of a strong heroine. She was smart and brave and really won me.

The chemistry was so strong, I thought my heart is gonna burst from love. They were such a strong duo, even if they hated each other at the beginning.

Books like this remind me why I love reading romance, and especially the type enemies-to-lovers.

5 absolutely amazing stars, strongly recommend.
