Four Dead Queens is one of the books that I keep seeing pop up all over the internet. It is hard to miss it; unless you are living off the grid or under a rock. Thus, I really wanted to get me hands on a copy to check out this book for myself.

The concept for this book is intriguing. It has a lot

of potential. In fact, it could have been really magical but there were some weak points in my eyes. Although, this does not mean that you should not try readin this book for yourself.

There are four queens: Iris of Archia, Corra of Eonia, Stessa of Ludia and Marguerite of Toria. Than you have Keralie, a thief. She finds herself in a pawn in a dangerous game. While, I did like this book; here were things that I found lacking: the back story of the characters. Yes, the reader becomes very familiar with Keralie but I hardly knew much about the four queens.

Additionally, the world that this story took place; there was not a lot of details provided about this world. It seemed like an intriguing world and I wanted to know more about it. Lastly, I felt there was really no place or need for any romance.

One of the best first books I've read in years. Great characters and both good and bad chemistry, a realistic world and most importantly, a cliffhanger almost to the end in terms of the assassin...And even once you know who killed the queens, there are a couple more very well crafted surprises

before the satisfying ending. I hope Astrid has more books like this one in her head.

Upstanding Varin, messenger for Quadara's most enlightened region, Eonia runs afoul of Keralie, one of Quadara's most skilled thieves when she steals a package from him, putting his life in danger. When Varin attempts to retrieve the package, he and Keralie both find themselves entangled in a conspiracy that leaves all four of Quadara's queens dead.

Very slow and unlikely.
