I love how Chew mixes the commonplace and magic so deftly - everything fits together so coherently and even plausibly. Today's children don't know what fun they're missing. I especially like, in this one, how the success of the wish spell depended on whether one was polite and said 'please.'

'Please' is, at least in American English, commonly referred to by parents teaching manners, a 'magic word.' So it makes sense!
