serial riffs, most brief, first-personal and often dreamlike in dimension and continuity, focus on the margins, the estranged. Kinship is constructed outside the codes.

As usual there is a dearth of traditional novel mechanics: very little plot or dialogue. The message evoked remains harrowing and transformative.
