When we got this book when my daughter was about 20 months, I thought this book was too chaotic -- but now I that she's just 2, I think this book is just perfect. She loves counting the animals and finding the cat. The text is simple, and the felt art is beautiful.

This is an awesome concept book for numbers! I love how they use a predictive sentence pattern on every page with the "where's the cat?" This is so great for young readers and it builds suspense. Another great thing about it is the art! The numbers are large and visible and the colors are bright.

It looks like it was all done in felt! On every page, students can look for the cat. This is an awesome book for my kindergarteners!

This is a very simple counting book, but I absolutely loved it for two reasons. The first is that this is the only board book I've seen so far that tackled numbers all the way up to 20, which is a very handy addition to have in a classroom library. The second is that although each page's text

simply notes a number and animals corresponding to that number, it also ends with "but where's the cat?" In each page's illustrations, which are fabulously fun creations using felt pieces and assorted other goods like sequins and buttons, there is a small cat hiding. The toddlers in my class - even the most reluctant listeners - were so excited to look for the cat on every page that this book held their full attention and they asked to see it over and over again!

Go in search of the cat in this straight forward counting book. Students will enjoy counting the animals on each page and the bright pictures.
