Roger's class is putting on a Halloween play. They've practiced and practiced and finally the big night is here. Roger's role is small, but important- he's the big pumpkin that comes out at the end.

The Halloween Play is a really cute book to read around Halloween. The book is about a class of mice that put on a Halloween play. The book shows the class practicing and rehersing for their play. In the play the class dresses up at ghosts and witches. At the end of the book one mice dresses up

like a giant pumpkin. It is so cute and students love it. The book would be a great read aloud for kindergarten, first grade, and students in second and third could read it alone.

Rodger is a mouse, and he is participating in his class' halloween play. He knew his role was small, but he still felt important because he was simply apart of it. Rodger counted down until it was his time to emerge onto stage as the halloween pumpkin that everyone danced around at the end of the

play. Rodger came home, and his father took a picture of Rodger in his outfit to remember this very night. But, Rodger was so happy and pleased with himself, that he felt that he did not even need a picture to remember this night. It is so wonderful when even the smallest of things can bring happiness, a sense of belonging, and the feeling importance.

An adorable book about a mouse and his halloween class play. He plays the pumpkin in the play. The audience cheers when he shows at the end of the play. He goes to bed and is so proud of his performance.

A little mouse has a role in the school play. Even though he has no speaking role he knows that his part is very important. "The Halloween Play" teaches kids that everyone has an important part to play no matter how little it may seem to others.

The Halloween Play is a simple story about Roger, who is a mouse, and his class preparing for a Halloween Play they are putting on for the school. It tells of the practicing and invite making. The words are separated by small pictures within the page. I think this would be helpful in letting the

student either read it to you while they point at the word or to follow along while you read the words. At the end, Roger's part of a huge success and he is very pleased with himself. I would definitely recommend this book for Halloween time and a lesson on being confident.

It is a fun book to read during Halloween time, I think the students will enjoy that. After reading the book, the teacher can make an activity out of it. The students can draw a pumpkin or even a mice to make it fun.
