This is an excellent example of realistic fiction because it is not set in any given time or place, but it relates to children who are starting school for the first time, whether preschool or Kindergarten. The girl is nervous about starting school but feels more comfortable over time. This happens
Show More
in real life today and is both about and relates to young children about starting school.
The girl becomes round as she sheds her anxiety and realizes that school is a fun and safe place to be.

This story was about a girl who was in kindergarten. This girl liked the activities they did in Kindergarten. At the end of the day she took a nap. The little girl told her mom that going to her Kindergarten classroom at school was a fun place. This story teaches children to have fun in their

A good realistic fiction story. Because the story is about how a girl found so many fun at the fist day in kindergarten. This could actually happen to any kid who just start school. A good read aloud book.
Genre: Realistic fiction
Media: Crayon, Oil pens
Age: Primary

Genre: fantasy

This is a good example of fantasy because it tells about what the school experience is like although a small child would not sneak into the class. It shows how the day is set up and what school is like from a small child's perspective.

Review: This book is an interesting book told from the point of view of a new kindergarten student. This young girls thoughts about school and the different events that she encounters make up the text of this primary level text. Kid friendly language, bright illustrations, and repetitious words
Show More
make this book great for the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten readers.

Genre: This book is an example of realistic fiction. Although a fictional character, the young girl is an excellent example of a what a kindergartener may be facing as they face their first school experience. Believable and realistic, this book does not project adult words into the text, but authentically keeps the thoughts of a young child. This book also, shows growth of the young girl as she slowly integrates into her kindergarten classroom. Although unsure at first, she participates from the edges of things and at the end of the day wants to return again.

Cute story about a little girl who sneaks into a kindergarten class. She gets to see what all the other kids get to see: a positive experience of school and the classroom.

This story was simple, and easy to read, with only a few words per page. It would be great for the first day of school for young
Show More
kiddos.

This book is about a preschooler who walks into her brother's kindergarten class and familiarizes herself with the typical kindergarten day. This is a good example of contemporary realistic fiction because many preschoolers have siblings or friends that are in kindergarten.
