These books are so cute. This particular one would be wonderful to read on the first day of school especially in kindergarten. When I did student teaching in a kindergarten class a student read a biscuit book to the class, this was toward the end of the school year when she really began to shine in

reading. These are very easy to read books that I would recommend to all begining readers for at school and in the home.

This book is about a dog named biscuit. Biscuit wants to go to school but his owner tells him over and over "dog's dont go to school!" he followes him to school and does everything the children do. At the end of the day buscuit loved school and the kids and teacher loved biscuit! This would be a

good book to read to younger kids on the first day of school, or for a struggling reader because it is an "I Can Read book."

This was the first book Alexa EVER read to me. I fell off my chair. You were four years old!

Biscuit wants to go to school. He wants to go to class, have a snack in the cafeteria, and hear a story in the library. Most of all, Biscuit wants to meet the teacher! But dogs aren't allowed in school. What will happen when the teacher discovers Biscuit?

Just like most young children (especially those reading this book on their own), Biscuit feels that he is ready for the world of school, especially when his owner goes off without him. Even though dogs are not allowed, Biscuit takes a chance anyway. He wanders through the school gym, library,

cafeteria, and eventually ending in a classroom. On determining to meet the whole class he leaves the comfort of his backpack and is soon spotted by the teacher, but even mean teachers can't resist the cuteness of a puppy, especially Biscuit.

The story is of a puppy that follows its person to school, and just wants to play. When the little girl realizes her puppy is at school, she does not want to get in trouble and hides the dog. Biscuit makes his way out of his hiding spot and warms the hearts of all the children and the teacher. It's
Show More
a happy story. Warm fuzzy ending. The illustrations are rich, and detailed enough that a young child, kindy or first grader could really feel like they are reading about a true account, and get into the story as well as the pictures. It sends a negative message to small children that when something happens that they know is wrong, to hide it,instead of bring it out in the open, and everything will end up ok regardless.

Shades of Mary and her little lamb:

Biscuit followed his girl to school one day, school one day, school one day.
Which was against the rules.
He made the children laugh and play, laugh and play, laugh and play.
To see a pup at school.
Will the teacher send him out, send him out, send him out?
Or will he

linger near?
Why everyone loves Biscuit no doubt, Biscuit no doubt, Biscuit no doubt!
Because he is so dear.
