Superfun. Just a book about tickling. The only thing is when the author purposely stops the rhymes. It throws the reading off and annoys me. However, read in story time it works perfectly.

Sandra Boynton is a prolific author of board books for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, like the ever-popular Hippos Go Berserk! Boynton's latest book Tickle Time! is an equally fun romp, encouraging young readers to brighten up when feeling blue by starting up some tickling. The text itself is

breezy and upbeat ("We can tickle left. We can tickle right. We can tickle all the day until the tickle night.") and will shake anyone's blues. This promises to be an interactive read if adults get the child(ren) they are reading to engaged in tickling by heeding Boynton's words "so let's all get together and we'll gitchy-gitchy goo." Fun times are sure to ensue.

Our family loves tickling, and we love Sandra Boynton, so this book seemed like a guaranteed success even before we bought it. It has some of Boynton's trademarks, such as silly animal characters, bright and humorous pictures, and a text with rhythm that demands to be read aloud. The story is just

about tickling, and provides plenty of opportunities to give your kids the giggles with tickling attention. I missed something in this book, though; usually Boynton's books combine all of the elements described above with a story that is imparted in the words and pictures, and this book didn't really have that. It was simply a fun song accompanied by pictures. Our girls enjoy it, but I feel that it has a more limited appeal than some of her other books.

I can't handle "gitchy-gitchy goo." Angries up my synaesthesia.
