Nancy isn't paying attention in class because all she can think about is her bake sale. Nancy followed all the directions her mother gave to her except the rule about keeping them out of reach of the dog. The dog gets a hold to the cupcakes and eat them all up, Nancy is very hurt. Nancy father goes

to the store and picks up more ingredients so that she can make more cupcakes.

I love this book because it contains "fancy" vocabulary with an index at the back of the book with definitions. This story is great for using context clues for young students to learn new words. Fancy Nancy always has crazy outfits and children always find that interesting. I would recommend this

Nancy is having a hard time paying attention due to the fact that she is so excited for the bake sale. She rushes home to make the cupcakes. While making the cupcakes her mom has to tell her sister multiple times to stay out of the batter. She has a hard time listening. Nancy decorates the cupcakes

so fancy. When she goes to show Mrs. DeVine her fancy cupcakes her mother reminds her to put the cupcake away so that the dog can't get to them. Well Nancy does not listenm the dog eats them up. Nancy is crushed. When her father arrives home he has a bag full of baking supplies. Her mother tells her father that he didn't need to pick up anything because she already had. He did not litens either. In this case, him not listening is a good thing because now they have the supplies to make more cupcakes. This book is great because it introduces the reader to fancy words that Nancy loves to use. This is a good way to increase vocabulary.

Appropriate grade level for this book would be Kindergarten to first grade. This book is apart of a series. This book has not received any awards. This book is about a little girl named Nancy who bakes 'Fancy' cupcakes for her bake sale at school. Nancy has a hard time listening sometimes and

throughout the book she learns to listen better and listen the first time she is told something. This book uses 'fancy' words like aroma for smell and adore for really really liking something. Uses in the classroom for this book would be for the children to read the book, and then maybe they could have their own class bakesale, or pretend to cook in the kitchen. The children could also work on their listening skills with each other and engage in a game of making cupcakes where every child has a job and they have to listen to specific directions.

Wow, these Fancy Nancy books are all so well written with themes children can relate to. I really enjoy the detailed illustrations and the rich vocabulary terms beginner readers are learning.

Fancy Nancy shows her readers the importance of hard work, effort, and quick thinking. Nancy makes cupcakes for her class that are eaten by her dog. Due to a lack in communication, her father brought home the necessary ingredients for a new batch of cupcakes.

I love the Fancy Nancy books for many reasons, including their ability to grow the vocabularies of the very young reader, their relatable themes, including the one contained in this book about the importance of listening and following directions, and because of the hilarious illustrations that show

Nancy dressed in quirky outfits, giving us all permission to dance to the beat of our own drum. In this short early reader, Nancy is so excited about the school bake sale that she doesn't pay attention in class. Again having trouble paying attention while baking cupcakes for the bake sale, Nancy forgets her mother's instructions about placing them out of reach of the family dog, and they get eaten. Thankfully, Nancy's dad brings home more ingredients, and Nancy is able to make more cupcakes, but she understands the importance of following directions and paying attention when she should. This could be used in conjunction with a lesson on following directions and the often negative consequences when we don't.

Doubly good as Nancy introduces new fancy words and learns a lesson in being a good listener.

The lesson in this book is listening. Nancy has a hard time listening at school, but she does a great job listening to her mom while making cupcakes, but toward the end she again doesn't listen and her cupcakes are ruined by her dog. Luckily her dad brings more stuff to make more cupcakes. She

learns a good lesson on listening because she is very tired by the time all her cupcakes are done. New words are introduced in the story.
