Not as great as goodnight goodnight construction site, but the kids enjoy this one a lot though.

All the animals are getting aboard the dream train. Aboard the dream train all of their dreams come true. There's ice cream piled high and toys everywhere. It encourages sleep and is a sweet bedtime story. The story is written in a very rhythmic way. Warm, rich illustrations. Would recommend for

very young children Pre-K-K.

This is another good rhyming night time book by Rinker. At the end of the night the steam train pulls into the station and different animals fill the cars with different items. This book uses onomatopoeias which is really fun and the illustrations were really beautiful. I would definitely read this

to children ages 1-5.

Sleep Train Dream Train.

Summary: Another great book for bedtime. This dream train pulls into the station and with the help of the crew it stows everything a child could ever dream of. From toys to cars to paint to candy the cute monkeys, polar bears, and elephants make it all possible.

Reaction : This book has some of the most gorgeous illustrations I have seen in a long time. The soothing rhythm along with the illustrations will keep any kid engaged. I love the way this book uses introduces kids to different train cars like the wellcar, boxcar, hopper, and others.

Classroom Activities: 1) I would have each child draw their own boxcar and ask them to draw everything the would like to take with them to “Dream Land”. Once complete we string all pictures together and put a train engine on front, hang it up on the classroom wall, and call it out Dream Train. 2) We can discuss what animals we would like to take on the train as well.

Steam Train, Dream Train begins with a train that is heard throughout the night. It then goes into the train and each cart to explore what is going on inside. The train has a crew that is full of all sorts of animals working. There are elephants praying paint into the tankers and turtles stacking
Show More
cars on the autorack. The crew falls asleep after working hard on their various jobs. In the end it shows that the train is a toy in a young boys room and that all it had explained was a part of his dream. Throughout the book there is key vocab about trains such as engine, boxcar, and caboose. This book is a modern fantasy.

This story would be perfect for younger students because it uses rhymes to keep their attention and pictures to give the students a better idea of the words used. The book is a level 2.8

I can see this being a great story to read before bedtime. Not only is it great for bedtime because of the context, but the story line is sweet and rhyming, and brings in a creative plot with animals and trains.

I believe that this story is written very well and can easily catch the children's attention. I would read this story to yooung children before they lay down to go to sleep. This is because the story is about animals who do all sorts of things on this train and then drift off to sleep so that their
Show More
dreams can come true. This should help the children want to cooperate more in laying down and falling asleep because the book demonstrates sleeping followed by dreams coming true.

This is a weirdly specific book: a going-to-bed book with all the cars of the train named, and animals loading them. The text was fine, but the art was really special.

This book tells a tale of a train staffed with animals and filled with toys. The animals work hard to get the train ready to depart, and eventually go to sleep themselves. As they pack the train in the illustrations, Rinker's text teaches children vocabulary of the various types of train cars. I
Show More
liked the friendly animals and the combination of a sweet bedtime story and the type of train/truck/machine related content that many young readers love.

This book is all about a train that travels through the night with animals performing various tasks to keep it moving. The text is really simplified, but the images are serene. I like the theme of nighttime movement, especially because moving through the night could be a fun image for kids to fall
Show More
asleep to. I used to love books about falling asleep and the world during nighttime when I was young, so I appreciate a new ind of book with that purpose for the next generation.

FANTASY: (Primary)
This book is a good fantasy, because it uses magic to bring the animals to life. It gives them roles that make sense for the world they are in. They each fill the cars with things that make sense for the kind of animals that they are, polar bears eating ice cream, kangaroos
Show More
bouncing in a ball pit. Obviously in real life this would not happen, however with the human like characterisitics that they acquire in the book, based on their abilities as animals, the things they fill their cars with make sense.

I thought I had read this before, but maybe not. It's a great rhyming book about trains, it’s cars and tucking everything away for the night. It was lovely and lots of fun.

The rhyming verse is great for building phonemic awareness in young children, and the bedtime story is a great one for preschool and early primary children who love trains. The illustrations are gently humorous with polar bears stocking the refrigerators and monkeys loading monkey bars.

Nice and charming

A good chill rhyming book that works really well for bedtime. The art is beautiful and the vocabulary is great for a 4 year old.
