Description

Clare's first battle with the Yoma of Rabona cathedral has left her body drained and shattered. With no time to recover, she must face the creature again after it chooses Raki as its next victim. Luckily, Raki remembers that he is carrying Clare's trusted broadsword and manages to get it into her hands. But unlike Clare, the Yoma is fighting at full strength and thirsting blood.

Pleasantly surprised with the third volume of Claymore. I haven't been very into the series so far, but Vol. 3 is way more interesting and I'm actually looking forward to the next one.

This is the third volume in the Claymore manga series. This book picks up right where the 2nd book left off. I love this series, there are excellent characters, wonderful action scenes, and a really interesting world. Prior to reading these manga I did watch the whole Claymore anime series, which

actually follows these books pretty well.

The second book left us right in the middle of a battle between Clare and a Voracious Eater. This book picks up in the middle of that battle. With the battle wrapped up we start a series of stories about Teresa of the Faint Smile. Teresa is not a nice lady, but her history ties in with Clare’s.

I continue to love this world where Claymore struggle against Yoma, it’s an interesting and detailed world and the Claymore are fascinating. In this book we learn a bit more about the limitations of Claymore and how they are different from normal humans.

We also meet Teresa of the Faint Smile, she is a truly frightening Claymore. There are some excellent battle scenes throughout. Teresa’s story also brings up into some of Clare’s background and we start to learn the story of how Clare became a Claymore.

I really do love the illustration in these, it is easy to follow and detailed. I also love that they have a synopsis of “the story so far” at the beginning of the book...I wish more manga series did this.

Overall this is an absolutely fantastic dark fantasy manga series. I highly recommend for those who like dark fantasy. This series has excellent characters, wonderful action scenes, and a fascinating world. I can’t wait to see what happens in Volume 4.

After all the action, we finally get to find out about Clare's origins as well as more about the Organization--which might not be as benevolent as has been implied.

Yagi does a great job of planting seeds about the Organization. Those seeds will blossom in later volumes. The relationship portrayed

in this volume is a good parallel to that between Clare and Raki. He has excellent story-sense to not reveal gore for the sake of titillation when Teresa shows her abdominal scar to the bandits.
