Hallie's feelings are hurt. The teacher ends up intervening and encourages the students to come up with a solution.
I think this would be a great book for young students that are at the age of loosing teeth. Even if all students aren't having such an experience, this book is still great in helping teach kids a solution to teasing. There are also useful activities provided at the end for parents or teachers, that can help improve children's social skills.
