A good premise - color photographs of film stars from the 1940 taken using Kodak's brilliant Kodachrome film. The book had some beautiful photos of Lucille Ball and Rita Hayworth. However, I have seen much nicer photos of both Maureen O'Hara and Katharine Hepburn. 90% of the book is of female

stars. The photo of Clark Gable was extremely disappointing. And then there were the missing - Robert Taylor, Van Johnson, Vivien Leigh, Van Heflin, Dennis Morgan, Joan Leslie, Doris Day, Ann Rutherford, Harry James, Judy Garland, Fred McMurray, Randolph Scott - and so many others. I think if I had browsed this book in a bookstore - I would not have purchased it.
