This is definitely a cute book with good illustrations and rhyme scheme, but it is intended for a much younger audience. I don't believe that many classes above kindergarten would find it amusing, but for those learning about feet, and the difference between "left" and "right", they might find it a

good read.

I think that the books Plot/Theme is that they are talking about feet and how everyone is different but they all get around the same way. I like this book because it is funny, interesting and a good book to read to children. I would like to use this in my teaching because it shows how everyone is
Show More
different but we should all get along and even tho we are different we all still get around by using our "feet". I think that this book is great for anyone to read but more specifically Pre K- 5th grade i would have to say. I think that this would be a good theme for diversity, culture and kindness/friendliness.

This book overall is a good book for small children. Anything from Dr. Seuss is great to me. This was one of the first books I read on my own.

Another book to read to interact with young learners. It is a beginner book but makes for a really fun story time.

"The Foot Book", is a cute book that is all about feet. It includes many of Dr. Seuss's original rhymes. The illustrations are wacky as would be expected of a Dr. Seuss book.

This book is a staple at our house. It is almost impossible to get my kids to bed before we read this book. My son has it
Show More
memorized. I have read it to him since he was six months old. I think it is a really cute picture book.

For a classroom project, I would get different colors of construction paper and have my students trace their feet and then cut them out. We would have a bulletin board titled, "All About Feet." I would hang all of their cutouts on the bulletin board.

This story talks about different types of feet, and the different feelings that feet have.
This story is great about giving descriptions of feet and uses different types of feet and what they can do.

Dr. Seuss is at it again with a rhyming children's tale of opposites--all about feet. This book, as far as I can remember, was read to me nightly by my mother. I think I can credit this book with being the reason I learned to read before the age of five.

This is a rhyming book about feet. It shows all kinds of people and animals and places where feet are located.

This book is good for Kindergarten aged children. It teaches them words such as him and her, left and right, etc. and distinguishes them for the children. I would use this book when teaching young children basic vocabulary.

I loved "The Foot Book" as a child and would recommend it to for early readers. This book is very educational but also funny. He discusses from his head to his toes speaking in rhyming terms to get the readers attention. This book is silly but also teaches children their body parts.

Classic rhyming book to help preschoolers learn patterns.

teaches children about feet and how most all things have them!

This is a rhyming book about feet. There are so many different kinds of feet and Dr. Suess seeks out to discover them all. From clown feet to 24 feet he covers them all. It is an easy reading book for elementary students.

I would read this book to my daughter Rachael when she was a toddler. I had it
Show More
memorized and when she would cry in the car I would start reciting it. It always calmed her down. I think it was the rhyme and rythem of the book. And my calming voice of course.

I would draw around my students' feet if I was to read this too them. I would talk about how all the feet look different. Some have long feet some have short toes. I would then have them color their feet and decorate them. You could also do feet painting to show the lines in their feet.

The Foot Book by Dr.Seuss is a great book for children in grades Kindergarten to 2nd grade. The reasons why I liked this book was due to the writing style, and the illustrations. Dr.Seuss does a great job creating the rhyming to help with children's reading fluency. For example, he rhymes on each
Show More
page even if he is making up words. This helps children make the connection between the sounds of the words. On the other hand, the illustrations are extremely vibrant and catch your eye. Dr. Seuss creates character that resemble certain animals but are unique in their own way. Therefore, the message this book relays is diversity, and how everyone is different and has their own experiences.

This is one of my favorite classics. I love this book because it helped me learn to read. Because of the simplicity of the words and the rhyming scheme, it was simpler to understand the words. I also really love the illustrations. Dr. Seuss always has very interesting illustrations that don't
Show More
really make sense and yet make perfect sense. I love the world of characters he created and the way he portrays them in his books. The overall message of this book is to explain opposites. It compares silly things and their opposites. It is mainly reading for fun!

I liked Dr. Suess's book, The Foot Book, for many reasons. First, I liked the authors use of negative space in his illustrations to portray many different scenes on one page. For example, he describes "small feet," "big feet," and "pig feet" all on one page and separates the drawings with white
Show More
space to show that they are not meant to be walking together. I also liked his use of repetition to emphasize the main idea. He repeats the word foot or feet throughout the entire book, but combines it with a different adjective each time. For example, on one page he writes, "Slow feet, Quick feet, Trick feet, Sick Feet." The main idea of the story is that there are all different types of people from all different walks of life.

The book 'The Foot Book' by Dr. Seuss, is a story that teaches opposites using feet. It is a wacky, playful, and interesting way to teach children about opposites. The book uses many examples to display opposites. The examples include the following: Left foot, right foot, wet foot, dry foot, slow
Show More
feet, quick feet, ect.

I chose this book as my picture book review because without the pictures this book makes little to no sense. I enjoy this book because it is a wacky and fun way to teach children opposites. For instance, right foot and left foot is a thing that children should know and the book has a fun picture to help teach children.

The only extension idea I can come up with for this book is to maybe add more opposites and examples.

I chose this book because I remember when I was little my dad would read it to me. This book uses many colorful pictures to depict the many people and feet you see throughout the story. The importance of this book is to teach children the importance of opposites. The deeper message of this book is
Show More
to show that everyone is special in their own way and you should always treat everyone the same. This book would be great for the classroom because of all the values it shows. This book would be great for the classroom setting. I would use this book to help reinforce my students ideas and how they should not judge everyone by how they look.

Dr. Seuss books are classics. Plus my son is going through a phase where he thinks feet are VERY FUNNY. I'm sure he'll enjoy this book.

This is a beginner book for young kids, but being written by Dr. Seuss means that it is a good one. I would be hesitant to say that even with the best of authors, but Dr. Seuss’s books are a step above the rest. This was the first book I memorized as a child. I read it so often that I memorized
Show More
every word in the entire book. There is something magical about it that makes you never want to put it down. Besides being a good way to teach opposites and rhyme, it is an all-around funny, imaginative story. But, as with many Dr. Seuss stories, the best part is by far the illustrations. The far out, imaginative and downright crazy style of the drawings would captivate any young child. For this reason, among others, I give this book a four out of five. The main idea of this book is to teach kids opposites.
