I found these stories a bit too preachy for my taste. The character of Kaysan is a surly and preachy man who condemns it companion to shooting for sport (not something I approve of myself) but then saying he traps nightingale's and gives them to people he likes (but that's totally different

according to him because he doesn't "harm" them). From a modern sensibility his justification holds no water. Basically these stories embrace the contradictory nature of Christianity.
