Description

For any apprentice determined to learn the arcane arts of wizardry, could there be a better teacher than... Merlin himself? Originally discovered in 1588, this remarkable text by history's most respected wizard is revealed to the world for the very first time. Lavishly illustrated by four dedicated artists, Wizardology's intricate design even conceals a series of hidden symbols that spell out a secret message when their code is deciphered-if the reader is clever enough to find them.

Bought this whilst on holiday in America and loved it . yes the child in me came alive . I would happily have given a book like this as a present to an older child or adult as it is just so thoughtful and full of surprises .

Wizardology, by Candlewick press, is an incredibly awesome book that is full of information and fun little fold outs. A great informational text with different chapters on different ideas about wizards, from potions and spells, to magical creatures and pets. My favorite part of this book would have

to be the informational text aspects. The table of contents, the pictures, the diagrams, the bold vocabulary words, the stories, and much more. The aspects of this book are endless, and that is something that kept me reading even though there is a massive amount of text. As long as the reader's attention is kept large sections of text can be interesting and easy to read. Another thing I liked about this book is the language used. Wizards are from long ago and the English used in the old times was a bit different, so in the book old English is used a little. This is a neat aspect that ties into the book as a whole. Another element I enjoyed was the images, they were old looking and detailed. Many of the pictures explained a section of the page, and allowed you to have prior knowledge of the topic before reading. The big picture of this book is wizards are awesome and everyone should secretly be a wizard.
