It is so weird. I seem to read so many of these lesbian romances and they center around those women who train or ride (or both) horses.
This was another one. It's about two women, Margaret and Rachel. Rachel owns a ranch where she also raises and trains horses. Margaret is the new large animal vet
Some of the stuff during the race itself dragged a little, and at a different point in the story it got quite preachy about a certain topic which totally yanked me from the narrative.
Still, most of the horse stuff was awesome, and I really liked the secondary characters like Kate, Mollie, and Jane. And loved how they came in and out of Margaret and Rachel's life just like they would in real life.
I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.

that takes over the care of Rachel's animals. At first Rachel isn't sure whether it'll work. But of course, since it is a romance book, they slowly find their way towards each other. Another part of the plot is Rachel getting ready for a race with her horse called Tevis. Will she be ready and get to participate? Can she win? Some of the stuff during the race itself dragged a little, and at a different point in the story it got quite preachy about a certain topic which totally yanked me from the narrative.
