Description

Fiction. Literature. Romance. Historical Fiction. Through forty yearsfrom Hollywood's golden days in World War II to the presentFaye Price would create first a career as a legendary actress, then a family, and finally she would realize her dream of becoming one of Hollywood's first woman directors. But nothing was more precious to Faye than her five children. In a changing world, a milieu where family values are constantly challenged from without and within, the Thayers would face the greatest challenges and harshest test a family can endure, to emerge stronger, bound forever by loyalty and love. It is only when Faye is gone that they can each assess how far they have come, and how important their family album is.

A competent work, if melancholy. It's not one of those perky chick lit books; it's one of those things where the girl clings to an unusual career to try to compensate for an inadequate husband.

Family Album is the dramatic and emotional rollercoaster story of a Hollywood family. The first half is slightly dull as the whirlwind romance between glamourous movie star Faye Price and wealthy playboy Ward Thayer meet, fall in love, and have five children. They live a life of extravagant

indulgence, never worrying about the next day—until the money runs out. The book's second half is filled with so much strife and drama it made my head spin and tears flow. Well-written and sometimes blushingly direct, the author drags her characters and readers through hell and back. This book was so entertaining I couldn't put it down.
