Glass encompasses a world of mass-produced but beautifully crafted glass containers from the past 150 years that can play an important role in our modern lives. It takes a stylish look at glasses, pitchers, bottles, jars, canisters, inkwells, vases, apothecary jars, lanterns, beakers and other simple objects that were familiar in the daily lives of our grandparents and that spark in us a recognition of our common roots and a feeling of connection with the past. Some retain the same use today as they had when they were made; others have obsolete functions but, with the creative and decorative ideas offered in this volume, can be given new life.
