I was unaware this was part of a series so it took a bit to get into. Eventually I got into the flow of who's who and the plot became interesting. All in all a good book.

We are back with Annie Pederson, the second book in this series, and the author does a great job of bringing us up to date, but you miss a chunk of the story, I do recommend you read the first book. This is the continuation, the search for a lost sister.
This is a page turner, there is non-stop
When a lot of questions are finally answered, I still needed some answers!
Looking forward to the third book in this series, Break of Day coming in 2023!

action, from bullets to cougars, with so many twists and turns, and in the background there is a young girl, Kylie, who becomes the center of this story.When a lot of questions are finally answered, I still needed some answers!

Dark of Night by Colleen Coble is book two in the Annie Pederson series. This story takes over where the first one ends so it is best to read them in order. Annie lost her husband and parents. She is running the family business and raising her young daughter alone while working as a ranger.

such a good, very well written Christian Romantic Suspense. It is a fast paced, action packed story that grabbed my attention right away and kept me reading just to find out what was going to happen next. This story is filled with suspense and mystery. As Annie is trying to solve a missing person case, she is also trying to find out the true identity of a young woman who could be her sister and rebuild a relationship with an ex boyfriend. I enjoyed the rebuilding of Annie and Jon’s relationship and how careful they had to be with her daughter who is still grieving the loss of the man she knew as her father. I appreciate the character of his father and the realistic input he has in their situation.I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story, this is my honest review.

Dark of Night is Coble's second Annie Pederson novel, and I enjoyed it even more than the first. I felt more invested in the characters as Annie continues to work out things with her former fiance as well as deal with the lady who claims to be her little sister who was kidnapped at an early age,
I highly recommend this book and author to romantic suspense fans. I have been reading herbooks for years. I do suggest reading the Annie Pederson novels in order, and not as a stand-alone read. all while working on a missing persons case. The suspense is well-developed in each of the storylines. It is always wonderful to visit Rock Harbor and reconnect with the characters who reside there. I highly recommend this book and author to romantic suspense fans. I have been reading herbooks for years. I do suggest reading the Annie Pederson novels in order, and not as a stand-alone read. I was a big fan of the Rock Harbor series by Colleen Coble so I was excited when I found out she was setting a new series there as well. Dark of Night is the newest installment in the Annie Pederson series which takes readers back to Rock Harbor. This story is complete with multiple suspense
Although I suppose this could be read as a standalone because the main suspense storyline has nothing to do with book one, I would highly recommend starting with book one, Edge of Dusk because of the continuing storylines. I am excited for book three which releases this summer.

storylines woven together in the story along with the progression of the second chance romance readers were introduced to in book one. I enjoyed getting more updates on the characters we got to know in the original series as well The one issue I had in book one was with how Annie's daughter, Kylie, behaved. Obviously she has lived through a lot of loss in her young life, but I had a real issue with the way her disrespectful attitude toward Jon was tolerated. Although her attitude gets better in this book, it still was a bit much at times in my opinion.Although I suppose this could be read as a standalone because the main suspense storyline has nothing to do with book one, I would highly recommend starting with book one, Edge of Dusk because of the continuing storylines. I am excited for book three which releases this summer.

Dark of Night is the second book in author Colleen Coble’s Christian romantic suspense series featuring Park Ranger Annie Pederson. It is even more exciting than the first book. And if
Annie Pederson, the titular heroine of the series, is personable and so very likable. I found her to be an intelligent woman and investigator, steadfast and loyal in her relationships, although conflicted, and a capable and knowledgeable outdoorswoman. However, she has been put through the wringer in her lifetime, especially during the last two years with the loss of her husband, Nate, and both of her parents. She is not alone in her grief; Annie’s eight-year-old daughter, Kylie, is still struggling with losing her father and is very vulnerable.
And there’s more.
Adding to the stress and recent emotional devastation, Kylie has had some health problems, which led to Annie’s discovery that Nate is not Kylie’s biological father. Annie had married Nate on the rebound less than a month after breaking up with her fiancé, Jon Dunstan, who had immediately left town for an internship at the Mayo Clinic, never to step foot in Rock Harbor in nine years … until now. I loved that both Annie and Jon still had feelings for each other nine years after their unnecessary split and were giving their relationship a second chance but this time as adults. I ached each time Kylie rejected Jon’s overtures to get closer to his daughter.
Their whole story is made even more complex by the sudden reappearance of Annie’s sister, Sarah, who had been abducted from Annie’s side as a five-year-old. It was agonizing to feel Sarah’s rage over what had occurred and her blaming Annie for her tragic life. Also, I could feel Annie’s great disappointment over their reunion and helplessness in getting Sarah to understand that she had also been fighting for her life at the time, followed by her mistrust of the woman claiming to be her sister. But that conflict paves the way for much more action and excitement later.
A second major plotline involves the character Michelle Fraser, who has been locked in a remote mountain cabin, suffering from a badly broken ankle. Her storyline is so intense I couldn’t look away or put the book down whenever the story shifted to her point of view. For both Michelle and Annie, if it weren’t for bad luck, these women would have no luck at all.
With its relatable and engaging characters, tense storylines, and unrelenting action, I recommend DARK OF NIGHT to mystery and suspense readers and those who enjoyed the first book in the series.

Dark of Night by Colleen Coble is the second book in the Annie Pederson series. The story revolves around widow Annie, her daughter Kylie, her boyfriend Jon and her long lost sister Taylor/Sarah.
When Annie was a young girl, her younger sister was kidnapped and was not seen again until recently.
Kylie's father and husband is deceased, and Kylie is not happy that her mother is back with Jon, they had had a relationship and it turns out that Jon is actually Kylie's father. Kylie is very distant and rather mean to Jon. Annie and Jon just feel that it will take time, and they are trying to find the right time to tell Kylie that the man who she called Daddy in not her real father.
In order for Annie to know if Taylor is her sister Sarah, a DNA test would let them both know if Taylor is really Sarah. The relationship between Annie and Taylor is not the greatest and is further tested when Taylor does something that really tests the relationship between them.
There is a woman, Michelle that turns up missing. She tries to escape on an ATV along with another missing woman, Grace. They end up in an accident and Michelle, who suffered a broken leg in the accident is carried away by a man. We don't find out who the man is and his motive for keeping Michelle a prisoner until the end of the book.
This story is a romantic suspense novel with engaging characters and a story line that was well thought out. I did not read the first in the series but that did not deter me from understanding who the characters were and how they related to each other. It was a fast read and I really enjoyed it.
I give it 4 stars!

you think you have figured out part of Coble’s plot, she will make a U-turn, or turn down a hidden path and surprise you with where she leads.
