Lindsay and Joe are having dinner at Pier 9 in San Francisco when the science museum at Pier 15 explodes. In the devastating aftermath, they encounter a man who claims to have caused the destruction of Sci-Tron. Lindsay arrests him, but things take a far different turn when he comes to trial.

While

the court case unfolds, Lindsay is investigating a mysterious death while she struggles to balance her time between work and Julie. And she’s considering her future with Joe.

With the typical short chapters ramping up the tension and the suspense building as the investigation of the bombing unfolds, readers will find themselves pulled in to the story. The twists and turns of the plot keep those pages turning.

Readers may be disappointed that, although all of the Women’s Murder Club folks are on hand, there is not much interaction between them and the focus of the story remains mainly on Lindsay and her concerns about her marriage and the outcome of the trial. Although readers may find the secondary plot to be a poor fit with the well-developed bombing tale, it’s a good read.

Recommended.

Another competent thriller from James Patterson. Short chapters ensured that the book was a fast read. Based in San Francisco it opens with a major explosion destroying a science museum with a bystander confessing to setting the bombs off. We see him successfully defending himself in court.

Meanwhile a mental patient is roaming the streets injecting innocent people with a deadly drug. A good read as one would expect from a James Patterson thriller.

This was another great Women's Murder Club book. This series just keeps getting better and better. I had a hard time putting this one down.

Ending seemed a little abrupt but another nice addition from Maxine

Always a good read when you have the Woman's Murder Club.

Lindsay Boxer is having dinner with her estranged husband when a bomb goes off nearby. She needs to solve this case, which killed 25 people, as well as another case of mysterious deaths. The relationship between Joe and Lindsay, and how to work through it, was not completely fleshed out, in my

opinion. There are still many unanswered questions about Joe's past. The crime regarding the bomber had some confusion at the ending-someone on the roof, and then, in their bed??? Not sure what happened there, but it seemed mixed up to me.
Not my favorite of the Women's Murder Club series.

Always a good read when you have the Woman's Murder Club. Two murder(ers) in the same short book made for a quick read. I wonder why the authors bothered to put both together. Could it be the diabolical editors? Focus is on Lindsay and her family life -- to the detriment of the other characters;

well known to those of us who have read the first 15 books...just not their time. Other than the serial number of the WMC, I'm still wondering about #16 and the "seduction."
