What Pete Ate from A-Z is about a very mischievous dog that eats everything and anything in his path. The little boy's teacher tries to get him to take Pete back to the pet shop but he refuses. Even though Pete does all of these bad things, his owner still completely loves him.

I thought this book
Show More
was very enjoyable and easy to read. I have a family dog that gets into everything and is constantly in trouble, but my family loves him no less and would never return him.

I think this book could be used in an animal unit in the class room. It could also be used to show that children in your class that when they disciplined it is just because their teacher cares for them and that as much as they may get in trouble they would never give them up.

Very good to help teach students about the alphabet anf what each letter sounds like.

Reading this book will make you laugh throughout! As with all of Kalman's books I've read, you notice more details in the art work each time you read it. I've read this one probably a hundred times and it never feels stale. Our family has adopted some of the lingo and refer to parts of the story in
Show More
general conversations. A fun and refreshing take on the regular ABC books.

Pete eats everything under his nose, from shoes to yo-yos, homework to money. The only thing Pete will not eat is his Zug Zug Dog Grub.

The book has so many things and objects on each page, it is also very colorful, which i think would be great for elementary students. I thought the book was so
Show More
funny and Pete reminded me of my own puppy at home. This book would also be great for students who want to learn the alphabet.

As a classroom extension i would bring a puppy from a shelter and teach it manners in front of the students. Have each student write a story about an experience with a pet like Pete. One day for a snack bring crunched up Zug Zug Dog Grub with oreos, peanut butter, and m&m's, etc.

Pete really does eat everything from A-Z! In fact, he eats much more than one thing that begins with each letter...and there are many more words on each page that begin with that letter (or that don't) that don't even have anything to do with what he ate! We find out that Roberta Rothschild is the
Show More
President of the Rubber Band Society and that the Twinkle Twins have a dog named Twinky who does not eat their things...any many other random and silly facts! The ending is cute: it turns out that Pete eats so many ridiculous things because he really just doesn't want to eat his Zug Zug Dog Grub. Who would??

A very fun book about certain mischievious dogs who eat items belonging to their owners. Each item beginning with a letter in the alphabet.

This is a really quirky and creative alphabet book. A child describes objects eaten by her dog, Pete to go along with each letter of the alphabet. Unlike most alphabet books, the readers can get a peak into the life of the narrator and her friends and family.

This book is not suited for beginning
Show More
readers because of obscure vocabulary and the artistic font. It would be very fun to share though!

In this ABC book, we go through everything Pete, the dog, likes to eat - and it's definitely not what's he's supposed to be eating. This book is humorous to children, as well as adults. It would be great to read to a Kindergarten class who is learning to master the alphabet.

The illustrations are fun, and kids will love reading about all of the crazy things Pete ate. It might not be the best book to teach the alphabet, though, as some of the vocabulary is difficult and the fonts can be strange. The illustrations are definitely the best part; they are distinctive and
Show More
evocative.

I enjoy this story because it includes a cute dog, I think a lot of kids enjoy animals and specially dogs in books. This is a funny book with going in alphabetic order on what Pete eats. I would use this book as a read aloud to the classroom.

I worry about this dog's bowel movements. An accordion? A ball? Some money and an ice pop? Pete is a cute little mess who eats everything he can, indiscriminately. A cute book filled with alliteration and a real tool to help the kiddos with their alphabet. It's even better if you can relate to it.
