Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins by Dianne Ochiltree
Summary:
A young raccoon goes out to the pumpkin patch to collect pumpkins for her grandpa. She counts and stacks the pumpkins so high in her wagon that it tips over. The pumpkins spill and smash everywhere. She doesn’t know what to do! Her family then
Personal Reaction:
This book would be great for fall reading. I really liked it because it rhymed and had a lot of silly words. I think that would keep children’s interest. I also loved all the different types of animals throughout the book.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
1.I could take the children to a pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin.
2.I could make pumpkin pie for the children to eat.
