I thought that this book would be very helpful for children that might be learning animals and how to count. My children did not like it though.

Fun book to help young students count from 1 to 10. Farmer Brown and the animals are back. The cows type a note to the farmer to let him know that they are going fishing. But actually what they did was take out his fish and put them back in a pond. When farmer Brown wakes up the fish tank is empty.

My daughter and son loved watching the animals sneak in Farmer Brown’s house and trick him while he slept. The illustrations, similar to Sandra Boyntons’ are silly and evoke giggles and laughter as the animals fulfill their mission.

Great counting story, duck releases goldfish to the wild.

This is your standard counting book

It actually took me a couple of reads to pick up in the underlying fish liberation storyline that this book has. Nicely concealed in the simple text.

This is a wonderful counting book that involves the hilarious characters from click clack moo. Duck is playing a trick on Farmer Brown and is planning on setting the fish free. The subject keeps the story interesting while allowing students to work on their counting skills.

This is similar to the book she wrote about the cows typing notes to the farmer. For some reason these books hit me wrong. The counting part is good, but other things...buckets don't stack that way, and why do the animals want to free the fish when they aren't free themselves. Don't care for this

one. The drawings are cute.

Omigoodness!  Too clever.  I had to read it several times to figure out what was going on.  I especially loved that we counted down/ backwards from 10 at the end.

The animals of Farmer Brown's farmyard return in this amusing counting adventure, intent on playing a prank on their human caretaker. With Duck (naturally) leading the way, everyone from the chickens (four of them) to the cows (five in all) get in on the act. In the end, Farmer Brown is confronted

with a very fishy surprise...

Like Click, Clack, Quackity-Quack: An Alphabetical Adventure, which featured the farmyard animals from Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type in a more story-centric concept-book than one usually sees, Click, Clack, Splish Splash: A Counting Adventure manages to do something entertaining with its numeric narrative. This isn't "just" a counting book - it tells a story, and an amusing one at that. I wouldn't say it was the equal of some of the more narrative-driven entries in this series, but it will still have appeal. Recommended to fans of the Farmer Brown's Barnyard stories, particularly if they're in the market for a counting book.

Farmer Brown and all the animals from Click, Clack, Moo are back in this counting book. The illustrations of the familiar characters might be a draw for many readers, but this book falls a bit flat. It really only contains the number on each page with a few words (e.g., "3 buckets piled high"), and

the story is so slim, it's hardly worth being called a story. An adult caregiver would have to fill in a lot of details for the young audience to truly get what's going on in the pages of this book. Typically, Cronin writes fantastic books; unfortunately, this is not one of those.
