Description

Wedding baker Laurel McBane is surrounded by romance working at Vows wedding planning company with her best friends Parker, Emma, and Mac. Low-key and unpretentious, she longs for the seemingly unreachable Ivy League lawyer Delaney, Parker's older brother.

Laurel's tart fairy tale romance offers few surprises, but it's impossible to deny Roberts's flair for sketching likable couples.

The third installment in The Bride Quartet, Savor the Moment, is the story of Laurel McBane. Laurel is one of the founders of Vows - the wedding business that she and her three BFF's run. Laurel is the artiste behind the lavish wedding cakes that Vows offers.

Once again, I must say how in awe of
Show More
this series I am. Although Savor the Moment was the least favorite in the series (for me!), I still love how "feel good" these books truly are. From its first page you are swept into the whirlwind life of a wedding planning/producing organization. The four friends are one of the most wanted wedding organizers in their state and Laurel is up to her elbows in fondant. Her wedding cakes are piece of art. She will spend countless hours (including losing sleep) in creating a bride's perfect cake. She doesn't have much time for anything else, but she will take a moment of that time to appreciate, Delaney Brown, one of her best friend's brother.

Delaney and Laurel have known each other most of their lives. He treats her like he treats the rest of the three girlfriends, as a sister. He's over protective, over bearing and always gets Laurel's temper going. This may be because she's had a crush on him since, well.... forever. When a minor spat gets their tempers flaring and leads to a very hot kiss, a moment of passion might be just what they need to escalate their friendship into a much deeper connection.

I really liked Laurel and Del. They are feisty and witty and rather sarcastic (which always gets a rise out of me). They are perfect for one another. Laurel is a fighter... she's got quite the temper. And Del, being an attorney, is her perfect match since he knows just how to stand up to her and when to conform. Their push and pull, the constant bickering and the making up was quite entertaining. Aside from the lovely characters, I loved the baking. The details of Laurel's cakes and baked goodies were so detailed that you could almost see and smell them. I was rather hungry for most of the time I was reading this book. I may have even snacked on a cookie or two because of it.

Then there was the girls' friendship. I may love this aspect of the book most of all. I love when they have their girl time and just discuss the random in's and out's of their lives. Whether it be their business, upcoming weddings or even their own weddings. I love how they stand up for each other, always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. Parker, Emma, Laurel and Mac continue to be one of my favorite group of friends in contemporary romance.

What can I say that I haven't already about this series? It is pure unadulterated girlie awesomeness. Weddings, love, friendships, romance, and food. Can you go wrong with that combination? Nope siree, there's nothing you can do to mess that up. I love that you don't have to think too much in this series. There is nothing going on in it other than love. No bad guys. No vampires. Just regular people falling in love with each other... while you fall in love with them.

The further adventures of Mackensie, Parker, Laurel and Emmaline. Mackensie and Emmaline are happy in their relationships and this is the story of Laurels romance. She has to work out if it's worth the heartache to find out if Parker's Brother Del is interested in her, the chemistry between them is
Show More
getting too hot to ignore.

(By the way, there's nothing above that isn't revealed by the previous books or the back cover of the edition I read)

Over the course of the story, as well as the relationship between the existing couples and the new couple you also see the development of the relatiohship between the women and how they fit friends and relationship into a seamless whole. I enjoyed this story, it's like visiting with a bunch of good friends for some gossip.

Enjoyable, while somewhat fluffy, it's pretty predicatable Nora Roberts fare.

Savor the Moment is the third book in the Bride Quartet series. I thought this book lacked the energy I’ve come to expect from Nora Roberts. Del and Laurel couldn’t pull off the chemistry we saw with the couples in the first two books. As individual characters I adored them both, but as a
Show More
couple it just didn’t feel right to me. If you have read the other books in this series you’ll probably enjoy this one. It was a light, fun, and easy read. It would make an excellent beach book. Even though I’m slightly disappointed I still have high hopes for the final book in the series.

I’d also like to add how much I love this cover! All four books in this series have beautiful covers.

As a partner of Vows with Parker, Emma and Mac, Laurel McBane does her part with the confections. Working her magic on different pastries was easier than facing the feelings she had for Parkers brother Delaney Brown had ever been. Knowing each other for years and having always thought of all four
Show More
of the girls as his sisters, Del had a difficult time believing what he was starting to feel for Laurel. Knowing didn’t make the doing a good idea, but finding out how she felt made it a different situation.

Book 3 ….. Saw this one coming a mile away (or at least two books away). But is was still a wonderfully written addition to the Bride Quartet series. Knowing the characters as much as we get to know them by the third book makes some things almost too obvious. I really enjoy the interaction with the other characters, just because this in not their story anymore does not mean they can’t be in it. Love how all the guys are friends and they all pitch in to help the girls (obviously friends) do their jobs as the wedding extraordinaire that they are. Loved the cakes too, mouth watering just to hear about some of them. For the next book, Happy Ever After, yeah it is obvious who is going to match up with Parker, but half the fun will be getting there. Definitely anticipating it’s release in November 2010.

3rd book in the Brides series. I didn't think this one was nearly as good as the other 2. Even though Robert's books are fairly predictable, there is always some tension or a surprise to "spice" things up. I felt this one was very cookie cutter.

I wasn't paying attention when I downloaded this book and didn't realise it was part of a series. Did not matter at all that I jumped in at Book 3. Nora Roberts never disappoints when it comes to the perfect romance. Would recommend this book to anyone!

Good, not great, no real conflict. Predictable.

Book Three in the Bride Quartet. This time Laurel, the pastry chef and wedding cake maker gets her happily ever after. Yet another satisfying romance where the issues are real issues, the hero and heroine deal with them like rational adults and the happily ever after is wonderful. I like seeing the
Show More
girls' relationships with each other as well. I also like seeing who Parker is going to end up with, I think there are going to be some real sparks flying in the next book!

After reading the first two books in this series I was really looking forward to Del and Laurel's story. I am very sad to say that this book really disappointed me. I disliked Laurel's character, she was a bit too prickly and not passionate in the least. I liked Del but there was no chemistry
Show More
between these two. What kept me motivated in this book was the snippets between Parker and Mal. I am really looking forward to their story and hope that the author will do a better job with them, I am hoping for the same chemistry as Emma and Jack.

This was the least interesting book of the series: the writing was so simplistic, lacked wit and substance. Conversation between characters sounded like giddy adolescents rather than intelligent, successful women.I anticipated this last installment, thinking these two love interest characters had
Show More
the most potential for a great story. I was certainly disappointed.

Third book int he Bride Quartet series. This is the story of Laurel who is one of the partners of Vows and she is the one that makes the beautiful wedding cakes. This is also the story of Del, the lawyer for Vows & the sister of Parker another partner of Vows. Laurel was raised in very different
Show More
circumstances than Parker & Del and although she has been in love with Del for years, she thinks that she is not good enough for me. The sparks fly between them and woven into the story is the business of running Vows and the love & friendship between the four partners.

Pleasant installment in the Brides Quartet. Well-written but very little conflict or significant issues to be resolved by the two chief romantic protagonists. The most interesting thing was the descriptions of fancy weddings and fancy wedding cakes.

Sweet and romantic, I'm enjoying this series. Not much happens except love and that is nice to read every once in awhile. Relaxing to read and enjoy, like an unexpected vacation.

Listening to this book was like hanging out with friends-- it was a very comfortable book.

Can you guess? The baker. She makes fabulous patries and cakes. And as you may imagine Laurel meets her fiance. So now I am hooked and can't wait to read the third book to hear about the weddings and how this all ends. I read this book in two days with the anticipation of clicking on my order icon

and bringing down the 4th and final book. Imagine my surprise to discover it not being released until November 2010. Calendar is marked! These are truly excellent.

Love this series! Love this story! I believe that Laurel's story captures the way many working class women have felt while dating. This book captures the true essence of dating someone who has always been a friend. This book is wonderful as the third in a quartet but would stand alone as well.

For Laurel, creating the perfect cake for each new bride and groom is more than a matter of pride - it's art. She's thrilled to be working with her three best friends at Vows, their wedding planning company. The fly in her icing? Ivy league lawyer Delaney Brown, the brother of one of her partners.
Laurel's tired of being treated like a little sister by the guy she finds most edible - but when she takes things out of sister-land, can she handle the heat in the kitchen?

Third in the Brides Quartet, this is predictable fare that still manages to be light, fun and exactly what's called for on a rainy, stay-at-home with a book, cup of tea and a cat-filled-lap afternoon.

I absolutely love these books. Having already read the first two I had been anticipating reading this one. Laurel and Del are people that lots of people can relate to, Del being Laurel's best friends brother makes their relationship have its ups and downs but they make it work. Plus the added
Show More
details included about Parker, Mac, and Emma that liven up and add a loving familial quality to the lives of these characters is something that l a lot of books often overlook.

The Wedding Quartet series keeps getting better and better. Not only we get to see how Del and Laurel fall in love, but we get to see how Emma and Mac are dealing with their engagements and you we get to know Mal a little bit more.
Seriously!, can;t wait till November when the latest book is being

released!

Savor the Moment is the third installment of four in the Bride Quartet series. In this story, Laurel McBane allows her life long interest in Del Brown, Parker Brown’s brother to surface. Since Laurel and Parker are not only life long friends, but also business associates and neighbors, sticky
Show More
situations could develop is the romance hits the skids. In true Nora Roberts’ style, the couple has their difficulties before reaching the conclusion.

The Bride Quartet is interesting from the standpoint that the four friends run a wedding planning business that is blooming for their high-end clients and Roberts always writes excellent romance. Though this is an easy read, the story has depth and is entertaining.

This series is as much about the friendships as about the romance--to its benefit. This one focuses on Laurel, the baker, and on Parker's brother Del, the lawyer and golden boy.

I really think Nora Roberts had been watching Buffy directly prior to or perhaps during the writing of this series. The dialogue is just so similar to Buffy-speak. I like it.
Besides having pretty much the same plot as the last volume (girl in love, guy with commitment issues, known each other
Show More
forever, don't want to lose the friendship when they start boinking), I still really enjoyed reading this. Maybe because it's summer and this is such a fundamentally beachy read, but I can't really think of anything to complain about except the aforementioned similar plot and also just the average-ness of it all. Although, I'm still really looking forward to reading the last book in the series about Parker and Malcolm. Squee!

Bah, maybe I was less patient with this than I should have been, but even though I'm less than 3 months from my own wedding (!!!!) this was still one of the most god-awful, cliche, trite, predictable, boring, and inconsequential bits of tripe I've ever forced myself to finish. I can save you lots
Show More
of time by summarizing this book in the following paragraph:

Laurel bakes cakes, lots of them and they dazzle all the brides who order them! And she has been in love with her best friend's brother for YEARS AND YEARS but she's never told anyone, until one night she KISSES him (on the MOUTH!!!!) to "prove a point" -- which I'm a little unclear about, but I think it was something about how he shouldn't be too protective of her because they're not brother and sister, because SEE she can KISS him on the MOUTH. And so of course they both then realize they are crazy about each other, because kisses are magic. In order to get the book to a proper length, there's some unnecessary drama where she worries that people think she's a golddigger because he's rich and she's not, and she flips out on him for offering to pay her back for some groceries she buys for a party. That part is as stupid as it sounds. And so he realizes that she needs reassurance that he really is serious about her, and isn't just sleeping with her because it's cool to get laid by your sister's best friend, so HE DRIVES ALL NIGHT AFTER THEIR FIGHT TO GET HIS MOTHER'S RING AND COME BACK TO PROPOSE TO HER AT SUNRISE. Because, you know, makeup proposals are even better than makeup sex.

DNF - This has to be the ONLY Nora Roberts book that I have been unable to finish and actively dislike. Boring and tedious with characters that I just couldn't care less about.
