I've had this book since the five year old niece was a baby :)

It's one of those repetitive books so loved by toddlers, very calming. The one problem I have with it is that, for the format and age group, it's a little long.

This is a very cute rhyming and counting book. Nice illustrations and a lot of fun.

The duck is stuck in the muck! All the animals try to help the duck out, one by one. Some animals pleep, others plop, some plunk, and still others slink or zing. But the duck is still stuck! Finally at the end of the book, we review all the animals on one page with their various exclamations and

noises & movements while the duck looks on. Finally they all make a valiant group effort and get that duck unstuck from that muck! Wonderful read.

A very fun and well illustrated book about counting and helping each other out. Duck gets stuck int he muck and each type of animal (each group getting larger up to ten) tries to help, but to no avail. But when ALL of the animals try to help, it works and Duck is freed. A good message and a great

counting book. It is also very repetitive, each verse is the same, with only the animals' name replaced . This book has many uses in an elementary classroom and would probably be a great conversation starter when discussing helping and working together.

When one duck gets stuck in the muck, all the animals try to help him out, from 2 fish on up to 10 dragonflies. The illustrations are really vibrant and colorful, and the cadence of the text is really lovely and fun to read. It's great for very young ones because of the repetition.

1 duck stuck in the muck.....all the animals of the marsh come by to Help! Help! Who can help! 2 fish...tails go splish, etc. in the end everyone helps our duck to pull itself free and fly away. Little ones will love to chant along with the story: together, we can do it-- similar to the enourmous

This is a very bright and colorful way of teaching children how to count up to ten. It also teaches the importance of helping out your friends when they get stuck! This story is about a duck who gets stuck in the muck and needs help getting out of the muck so he calls upon his other forest friends.

This book is a very fun, rhyming book that teaches children to count following the duck who was stuck in the mud. The story goes like this: a duck gets stuck in the mud and begins asking his friends for help. It begins with 10 animals, then counts down to the end. His friends range from frogs to

moose to fish. After the countdown ends all the friends try to help the duck become unstuck. After he gets out of the mud he flies away. When you turn to the last page you see that the moose is now stuck in the mud!

This silly counting book has very simple text with lots of onomatopoeia. It is intended for very young children.

This is a cute counting book. It begins with one duck that gets stuck and then two other animals try to help him get unstuck and then three different animals try to help and so on until ten. There is a lot of rhyming in the book which would benefit young children. The images are so very vivid and
Show More
bright and have the appearance of being more dimensional. The children will be able to easily count the different animals on the page.

This book is a good way to show kids how to work together when one of their classmates are struggling with something.

This book is a great counting book for kids. On each page the duck is stuck in the muck and different amounts of animals come to help him. But, no one can help him until all the animals work together to help him out. I also love how all of the pages rhyme in the story.

This book is an enjoyable read that introduces a variety of animals that come to help one duck that is stuck in the mud. Each group of animals increases by one as they come to help. This book helps students begin to understand counting order as they predict whether the animals will be able to get

the duck out of the mud.

I really liked this book. Some of the other counting and concept books didn't have any real plot or conflict. No story. I like that this book gave context and meaning to the numbers. Yes there is counting and repetition, but this story also has rhythms and is more enjoyable.

This book is another great counting book for young children (preschool or kindergarten, most likely). Throughout the book, there are different animals being introduced who all come together to help the one lone duck who is stuck in the mud. Young readers can easily predict how many animals will be
Show More
on the next page and this helps them to memorize numbers and count in order.

A lovely little book that mixes counting with a jaunty rhyme scheme. This is another book I always have on my classroom shelf because my students find it both hilariously entertaining, and a helpful way to remember their number sense. I love to bring this book out at the point in the school year
Show More
where we are learning about counting, and I have to say that this book really helps.
