The Jacket I Wear in the Snow is a cute little book that uses pictures for the main words in this story. It is about a girl who get the zipper of her jacket stuck and then in only gets worse for her from there!!

As a student the book was an ok read. I found the pictures boring and the pictures in

the with the text was confusing at times.

As a teacher this book might book ok to use with beginning readers, but i am afriad that it might confuse my student when they read with the pictures in the text.

This is a cute winter book that helps students with the concept of retelling. The book basically just adds on the story every page, so students are forced to remember what was on the previous page. This could make a great activity in the classroom. I would recommend this book to 2nd and 3rd graders

and I think they would really enjoy it!

Rhyme follows rhyme as layer after layer of winter clothing ("bunchy and hot, wrinkled a lot, stiff in the knee, and too big for me!") is first put on and then taken off to the relief of the child bundled inside. Clever rebuses and jaunty illustrations make The Jacket I Wear in the Snow especially

fun for prereaders and new readers.

Very cute.  Minimal plot, but lots of help learning to read.  And yet more enjoyable than not - what child can't identify with layers of uncomfortable clothes, and then the relief of taking most of them off and having cocoa after an afternoon of excitement on the sled?  Well, maybe children who

don't go out and play in the snow, or even have it... but they can learn from this what they're missing.  Or they can read one of Neitzel's other rebus-type early readers.

Many layers are put on as one goes out into the winter snow.
