Library's review

Of the entire film series, Two Towers is in my opinion the one most considerably improved by the extended cut, taking it from a good film to a great film. Where the theatrical cut felt overly focused on the siege of Helm's Deep, the extended cut adds more to the other plotlines, giving the story

room to breathe, adding much needed levity, and, oddly, by making the movie longer, making the siege feel shorter.
