An enjoyable enough TV show (which I watched last month for the first time) begets an enjoyable enough graphic novel in this media tie-in. Written by the series creator, it crams in a few last adventures in the closing days of Dipper and Mabel's summer stay at the Mystery Shack and provides a

flashback to Stan Pines' childhood. The comic book parodies, the visit to Dimension Mab-3l and the grapple hook gag kept this from being just an okay two-star book.
