Q & A:

What is available in the library?

Books: Hardback, Paperback, and Audio Books
Movies/Videos: Blu-Ray Discs, DVDs, and Classic VHS Tapes

How can I view ALL the items?

Simple! Just use the asterisk '*' in the search box, click to search, and give it a few seconds to gather all the information for you. All the library items will list and you can filter the results by Format, Genre, Language, Tags, and by whose collection.

Who's books & movies are part of the library?

Most of the materials owned by Colby, several of the movies and DVDs from Molly, and lots of books from the shelves of Grandma Donna & Grandpa Pat.

How do I Reserve or Check Out an item?

Log in with your Patron ID. This will be your FIRST name only. No passwords are currently required because this is a private library. After finding the book or video you want, simply select [PLACE HOLD] or [CHECK OUT].

Can my friend check out an item?

Well, yes, no, and maybe. Someone outisde the family can sign up as a patron but their access to materials is at the discretion of the individual owners of each collection. So if Rockford doesn't want anyone outside the immediate family to borrow his DVD of Puss in Boots, then we would respect his wishes and it wouldn't be available to your friend.

To register a new patron of the library, send the following information by email to [email protected]:

  • First & Last Name
  • Email address (or parent's email)
  • Phone number
  • Home address, city, & ZIP code
  • Who is 'sponsoring' the patron and will be responsible for the proper care and timely return of any loaned materials.

How do I get the item I placed on hold or checked out?

Well, you need to come to the 'library' at the house, unless you make personal arrangements to have them delivered during a visit. Delivery fees are required in payments of gratitude, but treats are also acceptable.

How long can I hold on to an item?

The loan period is 30 days. You are able to renew your items twice for a total loan period of 90 days.

Can I donate items to the library?

Of course! Drop them by and it will be put included in the online library. If you would like to create your own collection list, just say so and your stuff will be listed under your own personal collection.

I don't want to give away my own collection, but can I list them in your library and keep them at my house?

Absolutely! You can either bring the materials by and they will be manually entered into the library catalog, or provide a list of items you want listed. You can send the information by email to [email protected]. The minimum information needed to enter the information of each item requires:

  • ISBN/ASIN
  • Title
  • Author

What if I have more questions?

Then ask them silly.
