This was a delightful novel, I loved it. It was essentially a Taco Truck version of You've Got Mail, thus, rather than bookstores, there were Taco Trucks! The primary characters were incredibly endearing and entertaining. This is a novel I would recommend to everyone who enjoys a good romance that

is fun and entertaining.

I would like to thank Revell for a copy in exchange for my honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

This is a cute story, finding someone on line, a sweet relationship of people whom have never met. Yes, this is today's world, but this story goes deeper, and both are struggling with their lives, but enjoy their online relationship.

I will say that I did struggle reading this book, no the pages
Show More
didn't fly for me, but I did perservere to the end, and was glad I did!

A good clean romance, and we are there as others try to take down their world.

"Within the hour, he would either kill her dream or she'd kill his."

What an absolutely delightful rom-com! This book totally needs to be made into a movie. Betsy St. Amant combines just the right amount of sass, snark, movie references, and tender vulnerability within a drama-filled food truck
Show More
competition and sets it on simmer with sparks of romance and small town charm. I so needed this book as a pick-me-up after a long week!

There are truly hilarious moments that will make you cry from laughing so hard and there are truly touching and tender moments that will make you cry from feeling so much. Jude and Rory's on-line banter and flirting are too cute for words but their actual interactions before they know of each other's identity are.....stuff of great rom-com movies. Jude is a swoon-worthy hero and Rory is a feisty heroine who challenges and validates him. The secondary characters are also fantastic; I particularly loved Hannah, Rory's cousin, and Grady, Rory's food truck partner. Within the folds of wonderful humor and romance are lessons of seeing beyond the surface, following after 'soul joy', forgiveness and reconciliation.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic comedy. One of the most fun books of 2021!

If you love the movie You’ve Got Mail, you are going to love Tacos for Two! Full of spirited banter, great characters, and fun romance, this novel is an enjoyable contemporary read. Jude is the perfect heroine—he is patient, kind, and humorous, but even better, he can cook! I thought Rory had

great growth in the story. The secondary characters are also equally lovable. The lighthearted humor is mixed with some wonderful spiritual truths. I enjoyed the text messages in the story and, of course, all the yummy descriptions of food! I liked a lot of things about this novel and definitely recommend it to those who enjoy contemporary romance!

I was sent this book from the publisher/publicity team. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

This had everything that I normally love in a story including cooking and romance. I really
Show More
loved the beginning and how the characters are meeting through a dating website and through chat. However; for some reason I just had a hard time getting into this one. I found myself putting it down and having a hard time picking it back up. It could be timing since I am a mood reader, but I just wanted and needed more. I ended up skimming the end on this one but may revisit it again in the future.

I liked this book. It was a sweet and fun read. The "You Got Mail" references were cute. The food cooking was making my mouth watering. It was as if I could smell and taste the food with the descriptions.

I liked both Rory and Jude. They both are humble and easy going. The chemistry between them
Show More
was good but I actually was feeling it better when they were messaging each other under their profile names...StrongerMan99 and ColorMeTurquoise. They could share a witty banter this way. In person they were a bit more business like focusing on the competition. Overall, I did enjoy this book and will be reading more books by this author.

A new contemporary romance has released by author Betsy St. Amant. This is the first book I've read by her, and it was a fun introduction to her writing style. Tacos for Two has a hallmark-like romance that leads your heart along hoping for that fantastic happy ending.

I have always had a soft spot
Show More
for the movie You've Got Mail. My husband and I met overseas and then dated by writing many emails back and forth. So, You've Got Mail was one of the first movies we owned when we tied the knot about a year after we met. Tacos for Two has references to this movie all throughout the story. It was fun recognizing all the famous quotes from You've Got Mail as they came up in the novel.

Like in so many romances, misunderstanding seems to be the theme for this book. Jude Strong's family is well-known in the community for being quite wealthy, and Rory Perez has to scrimp and save for everything. These two seem to have some assumptions about each other as they interact. Will they let these assumptions cloud their view of each other, or will they stop long enough to see the other person for who they really are?

If you're looking for a hallmark movie romance, make sure to pick up Tacos for Two, and enjoy a relaxing evening with a fun read.

This is an easy read with two likable main characters and is a modern day telling of 'You've Got Mail'. It's an enemies to lovers story and the fact that they are both from dysfunctional families makes it even more difficult for them.

Rory Perez is a food truck owner who doesn't know how to cook.
Her aunt left her the business when she died and she knows that running a food truck is not part of her life goals Her cousin does all of the cooking while she worries about keeping the truck open to financially help members of her family. The only man in her life is strongman99, who she's met on a dating service and his emails are often the best part of her day. Her city is having a food truck competition and she knows that the only way to keep her food truck open is to win first place in the contest and get the monetary prize.

Jude works in his family law firm with his father and brother. He will soon take the bar exam ad become part of the family business. In his heart, he knows that this is not what he wants to do for the rest of his life...he wants to cook food that will make people happy. He and his father make a deal - if he wins the food truck competition, he can walk away from the law firm. If he loses, he will become part of the firm with his dad and brother. He, too, is emailing a woman on a dating site and feels that she helps him make some important decisions. Neither of them are ready to meet each other, so they continue their budding relationship on the computer.

When they first meet, there is a spark between them which is soon put out when Rory teaches Jude how to cook Mexican food and soon after he starts a food truck in direct competition with her food truck. Again and again they started enjoying each other until Jude does something that makes her angry. Neither one of them knows why they are both so anxious to win this competition and when they start competing in the competition, there appears to be no relationship left between them. When they get a big surprise, it changes their feelings about each other.

Both Jude and Rory are great main characters as are most of the secondary characters. You easily get invested in their on again/off again relationship. Will they be able to have a happily ever after story or will they remain frenemies?

Overall, I found this book to be a fun romance. This author has several books in her backlog that look very interesting and I plan to check them out.

Thanks to Revell for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

A romance with a side of cilantro. One owner of a food truck that serves Mexican food - thanks to her grandmother. One lawyer who hates his job and wants to follow his true passion. They meet when he seeks her help in learning how to cook - but what he doesn't know is that she's not that great at
Show More
cooking, that's her adopted brother's job. And what they both don't know is that hey already know each other - through the online dating app that they have been using to message back and forth, anonymously. Throw in some meddling family members, unexpected illnesses, a food truck competition and the result is a sort of madcap romance that features plenty of amusement, a satisfying ending, and mouthwatering descriptions of food. Plus one plucky sister who is never afraid to speak her mind.
I really enjoyed this one and I liked reading about some characters who have some diversity - which is often lacking in Christian fiction. I'd say it's a solid read for anyone who enjoys lighthearted Christian romances or "foodie" fiction.
