This is a fairly short but emotion filled story of losses and gains, misconceptions and faith-based actions. Steve Weston and Chloe Richardson had a history together, beginning in their young lives. Even at their earlier years, they were drawn toward each other but family circumstances and
Show More
community prejudices pulled them apart. Each had grown up to be upstanding adults but events that had occurred to them made them doubt who they really were and their own values. Chloe applied for a temporary nanny job to supplement her income until she could fulfill her life’s dream of teaching. Interviewed by Steve’s great-aunt, she didn’t know that the baby was Steve’s nephew whom he took in upon the death of his sister. Old hurts came to surface but were set aside for the best welfare of Steve’s nephew, Aiden. As they learned together to put Aiden foremost in their priorities, they also learned to open those lines of communication so deeply needed. This was a realistic story of plans and dreams made and lost and looking for the possibility of finding them again. With the support of each other and their small but close community, they learned the blessings of receiving as well as giving. Each explored the depths of their faith and looked for new guidance and meaning. The underlying belief that each of us is a child of God was reinforced throughout the story and it opened the hearts, dreams and possibilities as nothing else could.

Heartwarming and enchanting are the words that come to mind after finishing this story. With this being the second book I've read from this author, I am keen to read more based on how well the stories communicate God's providential care, love, and forgiveness for His children. I am also
Show More
appreciative of the gentle humour and medical knowledge included with the storyline, commonalities that I observed from a past work and that I look forward to seeing again. Expertly weaving in description amongst plot, the author made the story come even more alive. This book doesn't shy away from difficult topics such as mental health, generational trauma, and even the tendency to people please, which makes the story more relatable to what people may be experiencing. The happily-ever-after is charming but what is most memorable is seeing the characters respond to their circumstances in a way that acknowledges human struggles while pointing toward God's faithfulness. I hope to continue reading more from Meghann Whistler in the years to come!

This book is very uplifting. The characters are dealing with their own tragedies, and question their faith and their abilities. Their romance journey is believable and the author makes the reader feel their confusion and pain.

one liner review- If you only read one holiday book this year, read this one!

Love Inspired Inspirational romance
pub date October 2022

Steve Weston's life is in shambles. It's close to Christmas and he is struggling to grow his new business , while
Show More
raising his orphan nephew Aiden, all by himself.

He needs help and fast. He desperately needs a nanny and he has no options.

Chloes desperately needs a job for a few short weeks. She is going off to Boston for her student teaching job soon but needs money now. Her brother's restaraunt where she was working is temporarily closed for renovations so she looks for work. Right away she meets Mabel and baby Aiden. Will Chloe become the nanny?

I really enjoyed this second chance romance. My heart went out to all the characters. All are at stressful points in their lives.

At times I was almost biting my nails about some things that happened in the story, which I can't divulge, you'll have to read to find out. I liked how the story unfolded with past events remembered by Steve and Chloe. I was cheering them on hoping they could overcome a few past and present obstacles so they could end up together.

I liked Steve and admired his strength. A few times I was telling him to ask for help, but because I'm an independent person with no family to ask, I understood his reluctance to ask for help from anyone.
I liked how Steve changed during the story. He read or felt like a real person that could live in my neighborhood rather than a ficticious character.

Chloe also she felt like a real person and I liked her realness. I liked her sweetness and kindness and how she bonded instantly with Aiden. I liked how she and Steve were so in synch when taking care of Aiden.

I liked the town and wish I could go live there. Each character except one was one I could become friends with.

Chloe's hesitation felt realistic as well.

You'll have to read the book to know what I"m alluding to.

My heart went out to Steve when he shared about his family with Chloe.

I really enjoy those cozy warm feelings after finishing a really good book and I still have them a few days after I've finished it.

So that said, I recommend the book to people who want a sweet holiday romance, with no steam, a love story that focused on emotions and feelings rather than the physical aspect of love.
People who like books where real people are facing real life issues but still find love and romance.
Now since this is an inspirational romance readers may wonder how religious is it? its really light on that part, it mentions saying prayers and that's about it so religion shy people can still enjoy this book.

The book will appeal to people of all ages from teens to grandmothers. And of course people who like stories with babies in them, will enjoy this book.

5*****

The author has other books out which I will be seeking and reading. She is new to me but not new to writing books.

My sincere thanks to the author, publisher and Library Thing for the giveaway.

Chloe needed to make some money so she could finish her degree. Steve needed a nanny for his nephew Aiden. They realized they knew each other from church camp when Steve hired her. Chloe had her heart broken by Steve at camp. Sweet story of an Uncle raising his nephew after his sister’s death.

Meghann Whistler wrote a sensitive heartwarming tale of two relatable characters. Love how she wove faith into the book.

I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Such a great second chance story. I love a good, clean family story and this one was perfect to curl up with on a rainy night and enjoy.

This book was a "win" from LibraryThing's Early Reviewer's which requests, but does not require, a review.

The Pluses:
*I cared about the characters and about what happened to them.
*Steve and Chloe both experience growth in their characters. Steve comes to grips with his father's actions and accepts
Show More
that he does not have to turn out like his father. Forgiveness. Chloe learns to love and trust and that sometimes it's okay to change your dreams.

The Minuses:
*The plot/storyline seems to be one that is often used for Love Inspired Books (uncle raising baby after parent(s) pass away needs nanny and they fall in love by the end).
*I'm not really sure that I buy that their first meeting (as teenagers?) constitutes knowing they love each other in a "forever kind of love" type way.

Not bad, not great. The Christian theme was firmly woven in from the start, so no surprise there. But part of the way it showed was that both protagonists were carrying heavy, and unmerited, guilt - which made them rather boring. I wanted to shake both of them several times each, as they alternated
Show More
between "I am not worthy" and "what do you mean you just want to be friends?". Ghahh. Happy ending on a lot of levels, eventually, but it took them a long time to get past their own problems. The bit at the end where she tries to sacrifice herself _again_ and he doesn't even consider it was excellent, though. I don't know who he got to look after the baby - can you really put one that small into daycare? - but it worked, at least in the story. So - it was ok, ended well, but I'm not inspired to read more in this series.

This book was a departure for me since I usually read mysteries. I did enjoy the book. Chloe and Steve met at camp when they were young and have reconnected when Steve hires Chloe to be his nephew's nanny. He is dealing with the effects of growing up with a violent, alcoholic father and the recent
Show More
death of his sister. Chloe has trust issues, having been jilted by her boyfriend. Together they work through these issues and find that forgiveness and hope for the future leads them on a path to love. I enjoyed the book.

When Choe takes a job as a nanny, she has no idea that she will be working for a man who broke her heart 11 years earlier. Both Chloe and Steve (the baby's guardian and uncle) must deal with issues from their pasts and dreams for their futures. As baby Aiden wins their hearts, Chloe and Steve move
Show More
from an awkward friendship to romance. The plot is predictable and somewhat repetitive, but this is a fun read full of faith and romance.

I enjoyed this clean, love inspired, second chance, romance. I bought this from a local store and I voluntarily chose to review this story. I've given it a 4.5* rating. The hero really needed to boost his self confidence a bit and just go for it. That's the one thing that I thought was overdone.
Other than that, it did touch a lot of feels. It did have a cute, lovable baby to stir things up a bit and it did resolve some questions and ended up a feel good read.

A wonderful story of second chances. It was inspiring just how giving and caring the hero and heroine are. I loved how they both showed growth throughout the story in both their way of thinking, their faith, and their relationship with each other. I also enjoyed the Christmas theme.

This was a nice, quick read. The main characters each go through a time of growth and understanding. Chloe and Steve had been together years earlier, but circumstances led them apart. Now Chloe is back in the hometown for a time and ends up being a temporary nanny for Steve's nephew. Steve is
Show More
having more troubles than he can handle. Will his motherless nephew be the matchmaker needed for these two?

Sometimes I like to just read a book that makes me feel good and Meghann Whistler's The Baby's Christmas Blessing definitely hit the mark! It is a second chance romance with some drama and love. The characters, Steve and Chloe, experience some misunderstandings, but learn through the book that
Show More
cooperation and truthful conversations will make their relationship only better! I loved it! Thanks to the author, Meghann Whistler.
