Heather Webber's novels are fun and engaging. The coupling of detective, supernatural and romatic elements is purely entertaining. I can only hope that there will be more in this series!

Earlier this year, I had the distinct pleasure of receiving a review copy of Truly, Madly, the first of the Lucy Valentine series. I fell in love with Ms. Lucy Valentine then and was eager to read more of her story. Ms. Webber does not disappoint with this latest entry into the series. Deeply,

Desperately is a strong sequel that left me wanting to know even more about Lucy, Sean, and all of her friends and family.

The novel picks up several months after the ending events in Truly, Madly, and Ms. Webber does a fantastic job of referencing key events from the first novel that allows first-time readers the chance to understand the key points and be able to continue with the current story. For return readers, Lucy has grown in her comfort level with her powers and her ability to use them to help others. She has learned from her mistakes and capitalizes on those learnings, which is always refreshing in a heroine.

The attraction of the novel is all due to Lucy. She is filled with self-doubt, yet she is so cheerful and fun that she draws the reader in and compels the reader to stand up and cheer when she finally takes a stand on something important. Her relationship with Sean is smoldering and yet there is a tenderness about it that is utterly endearing. One cannot help but fall in love with Lucy Valentine.

Lucy remains charming, funny and uniquely lovable. The entire novel is goofy and fun. The witty banter had me laughing throughout the novel. If you have not had the opportunity to get to know Lucy, I highly recommend you do so. Deeply, Desperately is a perfect light-hearted read and a great novel with which to end the summer vacation.

I loved the first book in this series, truly, madly, and I'm happy to say that I loved this one just as much. Lucy continues to be such a fun character. She can be headstrong and impulsive but she truly cares about what is best for the people she loves. Her heart goes out to her clients, whether

she is looking for their lost love from years ago or working with the police to find a missing person.

Webber keeps the book moving with multiple story lines. For a fairly short book, there really is a lot going on. Lucy is kept off-balance as she tries to discover the truth in what is happening around her while also sorting through her feelings for Sean. There is also a lot of humor in the book and the conversations between the characters range from quick banter to painful and serious. Although Webber's story lines twist and turn in ways that I don't always see coming, I still think it is the personalities of the characters and their interactions that make these books so fun for me.

In this second book in the series, Lucy is getting the Lost Loves division of the family matchmaking business off the ground, preparing for Christmas and falling in love. She is also using her psychic abilities to help the police find the body of a missing woman.

I really like this series. Lucy and

the cast of characters are just that, characters. You never know what they are going to do. The books are part mystery, part romance and all fun. They are light on language and sex and that is nice for a change. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Another great Lucy Valentine novel! Lucy is back and now the head of the new devision of her father's matchmaking company, Lost Loves. She also continues her romance with Sean.

Lucy Valentine is back! The Valentine family is known for being successful matchmakers - able to find perfect love for everyone but themselves - but Lucy's talent is a little different. With the touch of a hand she can locate missing objects, and sometimes even people those objects were given to.
Her own new branch of the family business specializes in tracking down Lost Loves. Her partner - and boyfriend - is the handsome detective Sean Donahue but Lucy's not sure if their relationship can survive "Cupid's Curse", the family legacy that dooms the Valentine matchmakers to always be unlucky in love. On top of everything she's got a missing persons case to solve; one friend trying to break up another friend's engagement; and an annoying reporter following her every move.

As in Truly, Madly (book one of the Lucy Valentine series), Heather Webber constructs a fabulous story. The characters are wonderfully interesting and the plot is well layered with multiple story lines. There is plenty going on but every aspect is balanced, woven together such that nothing gets confusing or lost in the mix. I love the supporting cast and Lucy's friends and family are realistic characters that I could see myself being friends with or related to. And Lucy Valentine is all heart: smart, spunky, clever, and wise with just a touch of vulnerability. Caring and kind to everyone around her, but still capable of anger, envy and suspicions, ensuring that the reader find hers fully lovable and delightfully real.

With psychic mystery, sweet romance, and witty humor, Deeply, Desperately is a terrific sequel that does not disappoint after the delight of book one. Equally as good as the first in the series, the novel is a fun entry into Lucy Valentine's adventures and I can't wait to see what Webber concocts for book three!

“I really enjoyed the first book in the series, TRULY, MADLY, but I luh-huvved Lucy's adventures here. She's got her wonderful wack-a-doo family, her boyfriend Sean, and her abilities.
What she also has are anonymous letters coming in threatening her, she has her very own journalist hounding her

every move, and her boyfriend's ex is back in town and in need.
Lucy hesitates when it comes to Sean. She thinks the curse is going to kick their relationship to the curb and the ex-in-need isn't helping. Sean feels obligated to help her out, but feels bad about leaving Lucy behind.
Lucy also is in cahoots with one of her two best friends, Marisol. The two of them are trying to get the goods on their other bestest friend, Em's, intended. Neither Lucy or Marisol like the jerk and need for Em to see it, too. It's like watching Lucy and Ethel get together on a caper.
The heartwarming bits are when Lucy helps find missing persons. I love watching how she goes about the process and the end results.

I don't read too many mysteries and tend to stay away from the paperback genre. This series is really fun though! It has a good mix of suspense, romance, and humor.

A cross-genre series that combines romance, humor, and intrigue with quirky family members and close-knit friends. Lucy Valentine uses her psychic abilities to help find missing people - often lost loves. But she also uses good old-fashioned amateur detection. Throw in a love story with a hot

So I fell in love with Lucy in the first book of the series. As main characters go Lucy is one of my favorite. She is smart, savvy, independent, spunky yet she can be vulnerable when she needs to be. It is a nice fun read that goes too quickly and I look forward to the next installment.

This is the second book in the Lucy Valentine series. It never recaptures the magic of Truly, Deeply for me. This is a little bit darker in tone because someone is threatening Lucy. And she's not really confiding about it to many people because she doesn't want them to worry. Lucy's father has a

secret and with his strange behavior she wonders if it's a sibling she never knew about.

There's a lot of light fun when she and a best friend go spy on their best friend's fiance. It could've been amped up a bit more. I'm not giving up on the series yet, though, because Lucy is a great character surrounded by a great supporting cast.

Fun, at the end. I was reading it very slowly because I was not being interested - too many twists and complications about people I only vaguely remembered. But it finally caught me and I read the last - third? quarter? - in a rush. It might be better if I read the first book and then this one

immediately afterward - we'll see, next time. I did like the ending - all the various plots...well, not all of them. Most of the plots and mysteries came to a conclusion, others became clearer, and at least one, upon being solved, immediately opened up a whole new set of adventures (for the next book, I guess). And not one real happy-ever-after in the book - at least, not of a viewpoint character. Considerable advancement in several romances, though. And I do now want to read the third book.

Another solid story featuring Lucy and the crew. Locating long lost loves, dealing with stalkers, matchmaking and curses. Love the relationship development between Lucy and Sean, boo to Cara! My only issue is the repetitive use of the word "thrummed." How many times can a body thrum before a

I just couldn't get into this book. I put it down for a little while to read another book instead (because this wasn't doing anything for me) but then after that book was finished, I realized I didn't care a thing about what was going on in THIS book. Everyone was was physically sick or emotionally

So, I don't know if it was a good or a bad book, it just wasn't one I was in the least enjoying or interested in.

A quick read and I was surprised with the ending. :) I did find that the author seemed to forget that she had told us certain details and would repeat them but that is the only bad thing - more annoying than anything.

not as good as the first one, but still a cute, fast read.

This book is absolutely adorable. I liked the first Lucy Valentine novel but I actually think this one is better than the first. The characters are the sort of characters you would like to meet, be friends with, and hang out with. They stick with you and make you happy that you met them.

The mystery
Show More
plot part of this story is a tad weaker that the romantic plot in this story but it is still interesting. Speaking of the romantic plot...it is cute and absolutely perfect. The character take their love slow and steady and don't rush here there and everywhere, throwing around words they couldn't possibly mean after only knowing each other. The point is....the characters are real, they know each other and fell in love based on normal things as opposed to the magic love that sometimes shows up in stories like this.

This series is great. It is nice, fun, and just happy. Great read for the bathtub while relaxing, or anywhere really, as long as you read it
