Description

Captains Hawk and Fisher are the only honest cops in the down and dirty magical city of Haven. In a place where anything can be bought, stolen or fought for, they've stood up for decency and right; together, they have taken on everything from vampires and werewolves to conniving politicians. They've solved locked-room mysteries and dealt with the enigmatic Beings on the Street of Gods. But now it's their last case as members of Haven's City Guard, and all hell is breaking loose - because they're not leaving town without doing a little cleaning up first. The bad guys are going down, whatever it takes. Meanwhile, back in the Forest Kingdom, King Harald has been assassinated and the call has gone out to Prince Rupert and Princess Julia, to return to the Land they once called home, to bring a murderer to justice.… (more)

This sequel doens't live up to Blue Moon Rising - but then BMR is one of the best fantasy novels I have read so it would be difficult to be any where as good.

This installment starts out in the familiar city of Haven and there other familiar characters from previous Green books. But the characters

in Beyond don't seem to be fully developed and I don't quite get their motives.

Despite some of these flaws I did enjoy the book - it just didn't live up to the original BLue Moon. But is does deliver closure to the series and I would still recommend those that are fans of the series to read it.

Simon Green is an author I really enjoy, but I recommend not reading all his books at once. Green does what he does very well, but he seldom strays outside of those bounds. After a while, all his books start to sound the same...Which is not to say they aren't good, but it's easy to get too much of

a good thing with Green.

Beyond the Blue Moon is a great example of this - once again Green is tying up plots and themes of multiple works and having them all come together. This book is a nice ending to both the Blue Moon books and the Hawk and Fisher books, but there is little here that is new. I still recommmend Green and this book, just not all at one go.

Beyond the Blue Moon (Forest Kingdom Saga/Hawk and Fisher) Review Oh My Gods it all makes sense now! I knew that Hawk and Fisher had a bigger part, but I never considered that they were royalty. The plot and action were awesomely fast. Many plot holes that were left in Blood and Honor were finally

put together, and I am very pleased with many of the characters.Fangirlish glee abounds for now. On to Down Among the Dead Men.Cheers Pretties!
