I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very inspirational and educational. I love his spiritual references. The pictures in this book are also very bright and illustrate the story well.
Extension:
1. I could use this book to teach children about the history of our first Thanksgiving and how it came about.
2. I could use this book to teach children that we could learn from people how are different then us.
3. I could use this book to teach children about working together as a community and how it could help everyone succeed.

heartbroken when he returns home to find that his entire village and family has been wiped out by sickness. However, he is introduced to a group of the pilgrims living on what once was his family's land and his heart is and faith is alive again seeing his families land occupied and alive again. The pilgrims and Squanto both believe that God has brought them together to bless each other and live side by side. Squanto goes on to teach the Pilgrims about growing crops and living off the land. This wonderful book ends in the first Thanksgiving and giving thanks to God for journey and Squanto and the Pilgrim's ultimate destination together.Personal reaction to this book:

A simple story that misses some of the historical nuances, but hey, it's a kids book! Greatly enjoyable to read to my children and to the children at our church.
