dogs. The next day Mr. Putter told him to be a dream dog and he would get a surprise. He agreed and he acted so good that he got to go to Frosty Freeze and get a hot fudge sundae with extra cherries. he also got to go to the pool and the carnival. He also took him to the zoo. They dropped him off back at Mrs. Teaberry's and left and had a huge party.

Mr. Putter and his lovely neighbor Mrs. Teaberry are close friends who share kiwis and eggplant. When Mrs. Teaberry hurts her foot and is bedridden, she asks Mr. Putter to walk her dream dog, Zeke. Mr. Putter, joined by his devoted cat Tabby, finds that Zeke is more of a nightmare than a dream.

I love this series and am every so thankful that kids do, too. I really want to be neighbors to Mr. Putter and Mrs. Teaberry.  I don't know what it is, but this one, the second in the series (but about the 20th I've read), is not quite as strong as many of the others.
