Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. HTML: From bestselling author Thea Harrison comes the first in an explosive new trilogy set in the Elder Races world.... Her past is a blank, her future uncertain.... Recovering from a shooting, LAPD witch consultant Sophie Ross leaves her job and travels to the U.K. to search for answers about her childhood. When she encounters a Daoine Sidhe knight of the Dark Court, she becomes entangled in an ancient hatred between two arcane forces. He has given his body and soul to fight for his people.... Barred from his homeland along with his surviving brother knights, Nikolas Sevigny is embroiled in a conflict that threatens everything he holds dear. Only by uniting his people's resources can they hope to prevail against Isabeau, the deadly Queen of the Light Court. He will do anything and use anyone to return home to Lyonesse. When Nikolas encounters Sophie, he sees a tool to be used. The insouciant witch might be the key to unlocking every passageway that has been barred to the knights of the Dark Court, even as a fascination for her takes root in what's left of his soul. Sophie has no intention of becoming anyone's pawn, yet the fierce Nikolas is so compelling, she can't deny the temptation that endangers her guarded heart. As magic threatens Lyonesse, Queen Isabeau unleashes her merciless Hounds, and Nikolas and Sophie become embroiled in a race for survival. Meanwhile, the passion that ignites between them burns too hot to be denied and quickly turns into obsession. Thank goodness they both know better than to fall in love... Thea Harrison’s MOONSHADOW is a thrilling start to the new series of the same name. LAPD witch consultant Sophie Ross is given the opportunity to travel to England to discover information about her childhood. She becomes involved with Nikolas Sevigny and his band of Daoine Sidhe knights of the

Dark Court to try to overcome Isabeau, Queen of the Light Court.
MOONSHADOW has a compelling plot that was exciting from start to finish. It was full of creativity and excitement. I like how Thea Harrison included characters from classic mythology, like Robin. I thought it was interesting how Sophie and Nikolas initially encounter one another. I love the concept behind the house and inheritance.

Sophie is a likeable character. She is strong and likes to help those in need. I like how Sophie’s magic benefits the knights. My heart went out to the Knights, and how long they have been fighting to get back home. They are determined and powerful. It is understandable why Nikolas is cautious about outsiders. I like how Sophie’s and Nikolas’ relationship evolves throughout the story.

Thea Harrison does a great job with both her character development and plot. There are numerous twists that make the story exciting. There are deceit and comradery. The story keeps you on your toes I like how MOONSHADOW ended. I look forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I enjoyed this book and read it very quickly. I love the female lead did nut put up with the hero's crap and she had the guts to do what she needed to do. I like these two together. The plot was very fast paced and flowed well. I can't wait for the next one.

Thea Harrison had me hooked since the first book of The Elders Series. Now she is starting a new series "Moonshadow", well a spin off of the Elders Series. Sophie Ross is recuperating after being shot in the line of duty,a witch consultant for the LAPD. Sophie has always known she has been adopted,

then Kathryn Shaw meets with her and claims her father rescued her when she was five. Shocked and curious, clues send her to England with a chance to inherit a house, land, and a stipend. Sophie meets Nikolas, the Dark Court Commander and his knights and her adventure begins as she tries to help them return and save their home. Things heat up between them while on this quest. A great extension of The Elders Series. Thea's writing is exciting, thrilling, and sexy. I will not miss reading any of the series.

Moonshadow (Moonshadow #1) by Thea Harrison is an exciting fantasy book that was so fun to read/listen to. I had the audible version and the voice was perfect!
This was about a gal that had a gift, she used it as a detective but she was recovering from being shot. She gets a offer to go overseas to

a old house that was left to her. It will be hers if she can get the house to let her in. Yep, if the house will let her in! She feels the tingle of the house in the picture. She is excited to go. So much happens! She finds a lost, starving dog, that isn't a dog. Bikers that aren't just bikers. Attacked by werewolves, her dog turns into a monkey, oh, chaos! It is fun, dangerous, sexy, and so full of great fantasy! Twists and turns everywhere. I ended up picking up a new phrase after reading this book, I use it all the time now, lol. It's probably not nice but I love it! Great read and the narration topped it off. I forgot it was a narration and I thought it was different people or creatures. AWESOME. Got to get book 2!

I felt like Ms. Harrison phoned this one in. She didn't try very hard.

Sophie is part djinn but has been raised by witches. She has the opportunity to own her own estate in England if she can open the door to the manor house. Before going she casts her runes, and a man is in the vision and can see her also. When Sophie gets to England, she runs into the man from her

vision, Nikolas. She also runs into hounds which were also in her vision. What does it all mean? Will she get the estate? Or will she be killed before she has the chance to try to open the door?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Sophie. She gets under Nikolas's skin so easily. I love the one-sided conversations she has in front of him. Nikolas is a little on edge, shall we say? He wants to know what Sophie knows about the hounds. He also wants to know why he saw her in her vision. He gets angry at her for constantly putting herself in the way of danger. I loved their dynamics. It was fun to see who would blink first.

The secondary characters were an interesting mix. I liked some of them. Some were just introduced, and we'll see them in future stories. I look forward to seeing them again.
