A solid conclusion to the Young Elites series and one that stays compelling and engrossing straight to the final page. I did wish a few times for more character development and depth, but I still really appreciated the evolution of Adelina's character and especially the choices and decisions she

made at the novel's conclusion. This is a great read for fans of YA dystopia and fantasy series.

“Someday, when I am nothing but dust and wind, what tale will they tell about me?”

A nice ending to this Anger-filled series, The story starts months after Violetta left Adelina's side at the end of The Rose Society. Our dear White Wolf is busy securing her empire as well as looking for her

little sister because you know, no one can leave her unless she says so? At night she's plague by nightmare upon nightmare, the whispers are getting stronger and louder as she fears that one day she'll finally descend into insanity and loose control of her powers. While all that is happening, a threat looms that could destroy the whole world and Adelina has to work with other Elites to save the world that has treated them, her cruelly.

I like how there's a "myth" about Adelina at end of the book and that her relationship with Magiano has leveled up, no more glancing at each other longingly and the whole charades. If you've read and liked the first 2 books then this last one will make your eyes tear up , because it did with mine.

This book. Was SO good. It wasn't perfect, but how I loved it so anyway. This is one of my favourite series, and I knew it couldn't end any other way, but it still made me sad - that scene, just wrenched my little heart out.

So - although this conclusion was not as good as the first two

books, I still really enjoyed it for what it was. It felt more like a journey for Adelina than anything else. There was a lot of travelling, and a lot of self realization. I feel like all the events in the book happened, just for Adelina to come to the conclusions she did.

Marie Lu just weaves and writes this beautiful story about a scary main character, who you can't help but root for. She is cruel, and terrifying, yet you can see her struggles and see that deep down, she just wants to be accepted and loved. Ugh, the character development in this book was so good. I liked how throughout we got short chapters from other characters perspectives to see what else was going on, and it really added to the story. I like learning more about these characters as well, their chapters were powerful and had a purpose. I found that the second book really did all the work to set up this conclusion - so not a lot happened, but at the same time, I didn't really notice because of all the other stuff that we learned about.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series, and will continue to read it over and over again. I may need to just reread it right away next year.

The compelling ending to The Young Elites trilogy, everyone gets an ending. Not necessarily the one they wish for, but an ending nonetheless. A fantastic conclusion to a beautifully written series.
