can not find her mom. The baby hippo begins to worry but the momma hippo finally comes out of the water and surprises the baby hippo. She finally gets to give her mom a morning kiss.

I liked this story. I enjoyed reading it two my children. I like the idea behind the story of how important it is to say goodbye to your family.

In the classroom I could use this as a fun interactive story. The pictures within the book are bright and vivid, and my actively having the student's participate in the story, I feel they will enjoy the story more.

This simple, short, and sweet children's book is warming to the heart. Throughout the book the baby hippo sees other babies kissing their mamas goodbye when then realized he forgot to kiss his mama. With this sweet plot that all young children can relate to I think the best learning tool in this

book is the use of descriptive words. As the baby hippo travels through the safari he walks through mud, rocks, banks, grass, and trees. Each of these surroundings is descried with adjectives such as: squelchy, bumpy, mossy, long, and leafy. This book is ideal for young minds to expand their vocabulary and broaden their schema for all types of words.
