This was a cute, fun, fluffy read. I thought that I'd read something fluffy after reading the most recent Hollows book. It was a fast read, but it was definitely appropriate for the age range that it was meant for. I read this book simply because I was debating seeing the movie and after reading

the book, I really want to see it now.I laughed, hard, at some of Judy's antics, but I laughed especially hard at Aunt Opal's antics. I'm looking forward to renting the movie now, for sure.

I didn't relize when I grabbed this book of the shelf that it was actually a novelization of a movie, as opposed to the novel than inspired a movie. Talk about "bummer." I don't know if that's why the writing seemed so shallow or if that's typical of the series. Never the less, the book is an

obvious hit for kids with all the gross out humor and funky hip "kid lingo" that a third-ish grader could want.

Once you can decipher her language and misspelling of words you won't be able to put her books down. She is hilarious, and you can make a game out of finding all the errors in the text. This book is not only entertaining, but educational.

I would recommend this book for students 12 and under. If you are old and read this story, it may not be as appealing or engaging as it would be for a younger age group. For those younger readers, this story is funny and can be easily related to. Judy is always in some type of mood whether its with

her classmates, her parents, or especially her two brothers. Judy wants to have the most amazing summer with her friends, however most of her friends have plans of vacation. Through out the book Judy goes on crazy, fun adventures to try and out do her friends with the best summer ever. Overall I think that this book has a lot of potential to be great for younger readers because it will encourage the readers to get outside and have a crazy adventure instead of staying inside on any technology that they may have. I would rate this book a 3.5/5 but would still recommend it be read at home.

What starts as the bad-est of bad summers, turns into a wild and wacky trip without ever leaving their hometown! We've got thrill charts/points to a Mr Todd search and find to Bigfoot sightings ALL OVER the area...and that's not even taking into account Rocky's trip to circus camp, or Amy's visit

to Borneo, or half a dozen other things that happen in this truly NOT bummer summer.
