Description
Special Crimes Unit investigator Detective Sergeant Rebecca Frye is attempting to solve a series of sexual assaults and running into dead ends at every turn. Finally, she has a break in the case-a witness-one person who may help her bring a madman to justice. But, the witness is a victim herself and Rebecca must convince the injured woman's physician, Dr. Catherine Rawlings, to assist her-a task that brings both women face to face with their darkest fears. Amidst professional conflicts and a growing mutual attraction, the two women become reluctant allies in the battle to stop the perpetrator before he strikes again.

2nd book in the Justice series. ( a matter of Trust was the 1st book in the series - often listed as a prequel)

Wow. This has been on my list to read for quite a while. Since it generally seems like almost all of Radclyffe's novels and stories are in the same universe I've probably already read a book with these characters in it, but, I'd never read any in this specific Justice series (this is the first in
It's about Rebecca, a Detective Sargent in the vice unit. She and her partner also happen to specialize in Special Victim cases. She meets Catherine, a Psychiatrist, during a case that involves one of Catherine's patients as a witness to one of the crimes.
It's both a thriller and a romance, and so, not so slowly actually, Rebecca and Catherine fall in love (well, they call it like at first of course).
At the same time that they're getting closer personally, they're both trying to work together professionally to find the unsub who's attacking women, sometimes with deadly consequences.
It was an intense novel when it came to the crime stuff, and a little less suspenseful with the romance part. And I definitely liked how the two parts fit together.
I know I'm late to this book by a lot of years, (oops, 2005), but, I thought it was pretty awesome.
