I've only read a few Diann Mills novels, and each one I read seems to be better than the one before it. This one is another home run from her talented hands! It's the third book in the series, but the first one of the series that I've read. I wasn't lost or confused, so it's easily read as a stand

alone.

I loved following Kord, Monica and Prince Omar. Their characters truly capture the heart and make the reader feel like a part of the story. The tension that's between Kord and Monica jumps off the pages and becomes a part of the reader. I loved that!

My heart really went out to Prince Omar and his mother. My own father battled cancer, so it's a subject close to my heart. As I read his story, saw his interactions with his friend Kord, I really felt a connection to him. I loved his character! The suspense surrounds him as someone takes an attempt at his life.

In trademark Mills fashion, she creates a story that is not only filled with strong messages of faith and trust, but also suspenseful twists, romantic sparks, and gripping drama. She blends her characters with the perfect, thoroughly researched plot line and creates a thrilling 4.5 star read. This is a book that I would highly recommend to all that want to stay up late, on the edge of your seat, turning page after page to reach the end. Definite nail biting going on with this one! Bravo to Ms. Mills!

with a message of faith in Christ. Here is her recent offering that for this reader was her best yet! At the end of the book, the author lets us know that she wanted to show readers we can model Jesus regardless of where we are or who we are with at any time.
You don’t have to read the other books in the series before picking up this book as each really is self-contained held together only by being part of the FBI Task Force series subtitle. The two main characters are Kord, an FBI agent who is paired with Monica. She works for the CIA in protecting a Saudi family visiting the U.S. Besides interagency tensions, these two characters are also at odds as Monica is a believer in Christ and Kord is still searching. Monica is more than capable of doing her job and has a unique set of abilities though she has a heart burden she carries daily. Kord is a man not just searching for meaning in this life, but grieving the loss of friends. He just shakes his head when Monica reveals her belief in Christ.
The whole book can be read pretty quickly as the chapters are short and the action, tension and climax keep the story moving sometimes at a rapid pace! Never once did I tire of reading the story; I just found I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough, lol! Grab a copy today and then with a blanket, hot chocolate and thoughts of a sunny beach, enjoy!

Monica Alden, a CIA operative, is brought onto an FBI task force with Special Agent Kord Davidson after an assassination attempt on Kord's friend, a Saudi prince. Having come to Houston, Texas to seek cancer treatment for his mother, the prince can't pick up and leave the country, but the extent of

his real plans in the US makes his FBI protection all the more crucial in High Treason, a novel by author DiAnn Mills.

With this book, I knew I'd have to settle in for a read that would take me a while. But as I've come to find with this author so far, no matter how long or short the read, there's not a dull moment in it for me. Whether it's high-stakes action, the thick of investigation, or engaging inward and outward dialogue as characters deal with their personal challenges and forge various relationships, I'm kept on my toes from start to finish.

I'm all for a heroine like Monica: sharp, no-nonsense, gutsy, and driven, but with a sense of humor, compassion, and a vulnerable side. I also appreciate that her inner conflict has complexity to it, that it's not just a token pain or a too-easy source for angst or drama.

And Kord is rather sharp himself. While I'm pretty sure the "missionary setup" will never be my preferred scenario for ChristFic romance (it tends to muddy up the couple's motives and makes the inevitable conversion feel trite, contrived, or both), I do like that the romance here isn't instantaneous or dripping with sap. The characters' tenderness doesn't make them lose their edge but rather enhances it.

Since this is only the third book I've read by Mills, it may be too soon to say she's my favorite romantic suspense author. Even so, I'm kind of scratching my head as to why I haven't read more of her books by now.

High Treason is a book that will keep you reading. FBI Special Agent Kord Davidson and CIA operative Monica Alden find themselves tasked with protecting Saudi Prince Omar bin Talal. This becomes more complicated when they find out that the prince is not just there for him mother's cancer treatment,

but also to negotiate some some stronger business ties between the US and his country.
I really enjoyed reading this book and liked seeing the interaction between the main characters. They had to learn to get over each other's role in the protective detail and learn to work together. I liked seeing how they worked out their differences as well as trying to figure out who the bad guy was and what the motive was.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher, the review is my own.

This was a roller coaster ride of espionage, assignations, spies, agents, royalty, and more! I will admit I stayed a bit confused by all the characters and trying to remember who was who and who did what, but it all turned out in the end.

This is a fantastic thriller that keeps you guessing until

the end. Great ending to a great series.

This is Christian fiction and a thread of faith is throughout the book, but not preachy. No bad language or sexual inappropriateness.
