First of 10 books, in the series, The Badge of Honour, was first published, Oct 1988. The series is about the City of Philadelphia police force, including the Philadelphia Highway Patrol, from the cop on the beat, right up to the Commissioner. It starts with the murder of Captain Richard C. "Dutch"

Moffitt, the commanding officer of the Philadelphia Highway Patrol. It's fast paced and with lots of action. Given the date it was published, you can see how much change has happened and what has stayed the same, regarding police work. Highly recommend the series.

Another special download from audible.com--first in a series. In this one, the cop falls for the reporter dame, with many undercurrents and in the background of a senior cop shot. I liked it, but believe I'll wait awhile for the second in the series.

My second Griffin book. Once again I read his books and realize it is about the people, and not he events. Another great book.

Wonderful book....Griffin dives deep into the Philadelphia PD and produces a gutsy and real look at the inner workings during the trying times of a popular police captain dying in the line of duty. Could not put this one down.

This is the first of the Badge of Honor series by this author. It is far more personal than police procedural. It does introduce many of the principal characters who appear in this series. It is also a love story that fails because the hero is a police officer. Griffin is at his best when he

creates new characters and introduces them. He also has some pretty clear insights into the operations of the upper echelons of some police department which might be Philadelphia. He seems to have a cab driver's knowledge of getting around Philly. Staff Inspector is very interesting person but he will be supplanted by a much younger man as the series progresses.
