Description

All around the globe, people are being reported dead or missing. In Berlin, a woman vanishes from the city streets. In Paris, a man plunges from the Eiffel Tower. In Denver, a small plane crashes into the mountains. In Manhattan, a body washes ashore from the East River. At first these seem to be random incidents, but the police soon discover that all four of the victims are connected to Kingsley International Group (KIG), the largest think tank in the world. Kelly Harris and Diane Stevens -- young widows of two of the victims -- encounter each other in New York, where Tanner Kingsley, the head of KIG, assures them that he is using every resource to solve the mysterious deaths of their husbands. But he may be too late. Someone is intent on murdering both women, and they suffer a harrowing series of close escapes. Who is trying to kill them and why? Forced together for protection, and suspicious of each other and everyone around them, the two widows embark on a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse against the unknown forces out to destroy them. Taut with suspense and vivid characterization, full of shocking twists, and with an unnervingly realistic premise, the long-awaited Are You Afraid of the Dark? is Sidney Sheldon at the top of his game. After listening to an audio on the man, Sidney Sheldon, I wanted to read (or listen to) a novel of his. This one is intriguing, entertaining, enjoyable

In this book all around the world people are dead or missing and they are all linked to KIG. I think this was a good solid book. The twist at the end was good. I would recommend this to anyone who likes suspense or thinks that the government has to much power.

Four people have died who are working on the same project. Quite scary as some of the ideas which may have seemed so far fetched when they were written are happening now!

I'm glad to hear that Mr. Sheldon has continued writing novels. Overall I thought the book was good, however not as suspenseful as I had hoped it would be. Although, I was suprised to learn about Princess. And then I thought why didn't I see that coming? If you enjoyed reading his past books, at

This story is predictable, trite and utterly cliché. The successful author that Sidney Sheldon used to be is no where to be found in this B-movie book. I do not recommend it.

This is a really fun read. It is not the most believable in terms of story, but the pacing is so fast that I didn't really care. If your in the mood for a quick and exciting read, pick this one up.

Very cool. This book about the devastating effects of weather control experiments, murder, & a race to find out why leave Kelly & Diane running for their lives in an attempt to find out why their husbands were murdered. It's a fast & fascinating read!

Are You Afraid of the Dark? is another amazing read by Sidney Sheldon. With a twisted plot and an amazing hero, it was perfect for a night of mystery. At first, it seemed a little too damsel-in-distress for me, but it turned out to have the perfect blend of suspense and salvation. Rating - 5 stars

I like Sidney Sheldon so this was another good read for me. After 4 people that were connected to a "think" tank, mysteriously die/killed. The spouses are forced to join together - there is mystery until the end of story!

I've always had been a Sidney Sheldon fan. I love all his books including this one. I read this years ago and I just re-reading it.
