This is a great informational book for younger children about cats. It talks about big wild cats and small domestic cats. There are great labels on the pictures. I found it to be a very short, easy read. Cats are often misunderstood, and this book clears up most reasons why cats act the way they

do. It tells about how to care for a kitten or cat. It also tells about the cats behavior and what it means. I have a cat, and I thought that aws the most interesting part in the book. It is impossible to train a cat like a dog, but if your able to know what it is upset about that helps!

Another Gail Gibbons book where she really nails it, this books offers plenty of information on Cats in a well-illustrated picture book. I love how much information there is, and the artwork is friendly and warm, just like a cat!

This book is by Gail Gibbons, a prolific author of children’s informational books. Gail really knows how to put a book together so that it is both appealing and insightful for kids to read. One of my favorite things about this specific book is the variety of ways the author presents information.

There are blocks of text, diagrams, charts, illustrations, and much much more. There is even a section on “how to care for your cat” in the back. Ms. Gibbons really takes advantage of every aspect of the book to provide information to the readers. At the same time, it is not crowded or overwhelming, like some informational book tend to be. This is a perfect example of a well written children’s book and I give it a 5 out of 5, easily. The main idea of this book is to inform the reader about the history, lives, and care of cats.
